The Aerodynamics team is a collaborative group of 10+ engineers based across Portugal, India and Denmark. We are now expanding our presence in Portugal and seeking motivated professionals to join us. Our mission is to be a global leader in sustainable energy by developing high-quality and advanced aerodynamic and acoustic solutions. Our scope includes aerodynamic/acoustic blade design, addons design, and blade leading-edge protection solutions. As a highly skilled and collaborative team, we work closely with senior functional leadership to deliver high-performance designs/solutions that optimize performance and reliability based on market requirements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct the development, simulation, and validation of the rotor of the wind turbine (aerofoil, blade, addons, rotor aerodynamic integration) to improve performance in different wind conditions
- Work with Xfoil, CFD and BEM tools to simulate airflow around airfoils/wind turbine blades and study their aerodynamic behavior including the impact of manufacturing tolerances, protection for the blade's front edge and vortex generators
- Participate in end-to-end design of blade geometries, from airfoil selection and chord distribution, twist optimization based on a set of requirements
- Be responsible in organizing wind tunnel campaigns to investigate a given problem/solution
- Develop and refine computational models to predict wind turbine performance under different circumstances
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with experienced engineers to integrate aerodynamic insights into blade designs, working closely with other disciplines as loads & control, blade structures and assembly & finish gaining a holistic view of the wind turbine design
Qualifications
- You hold a M.Sc. in Aerospace/Aeronautical engineering with specialization in Fluid dynamics
- You have 4+ years of experience in aerodynamic design (e.g., blade/aerofoils/add-ons design)
- Good Knowledge of Aerodynamic Panel methods (Xfoil)
- Good knowledge and experience of wind tunnel testing
Competencies
- Programming/scripting of algorithms and data analysis scripts in Python
- CAD experience (CATIA is valuable)
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Versatile profile, able to work across different contexts
- Highly adaptable to new environments and tasks
- Curious and motivated to learn

Additional information
This is a hybrid position based in Porto, Portugal and requires up to 20 days of travel per year.
