Join us as Nacelles Onshore Integration Lead and play a vital role in the development and optimization of the next generation of wind turbines. In this role, you will facilitate technical progress, manage cross-functional integration projects, and deliver breakthrough solutions in multiple Engineering disciplines that will power the future of renewable energy worldwide. Research & Development (R&D) - We are about 2,500 internal employees in numerous locations. Our main Technology Centers are based in Aarhus (Denmark), Porto (Portugal) and Chennai (India). We innovate and develop onshore and offshore products, as well as plant and energy solutions, by translating market value drivers into our R&D functions that design and develop these solutions for our customers. By defining, providing and improving the required capabilities, we ensure the organization executes effectively and efficiently within a modular, quality-focused, safe, and sustainable industrial system.

Our department, Nacelles Integration, is accountable for defining the core strategy for the Nacelles Segment Transport, Construction and Service and its ideation into Engineering Concepts and Requirements breakdown. We also guide cross-functional teams to the optimal value design solution, balancing trade-offs and ensuring seamless integration of our designs into Manufacturing.

We are based across two key locations: Aarhus, Denmark and Porto, Portugal.

Responsibilities

  • Guide teams through problem definition, concept development, and trade-off decision making
  • Handling technical complexity and guiding engineering decisions across multiple projects and Engineering disciplines at Concept stage and then formulating scope for the different design teams
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and Value Chain to understand and define complex problems, their operational context and their optimum end state.
  • Develop high-level concepts and system requirements that effectively address those challenges
  • Work closely with Segment Cost Management and Value Chain to identify cost-saving synergies and implement end-to-end cost consciousness decisions marking
  • Conduct and facilitate multi-disciplinary design reviews with multiple different design disciplines at Concept stage and act as Technical Review Leader in the consolidation process towards Design and Manufacturing Readiness of all Nacelles Modules (Nacelle, Powertrain, Hub, Converter and Electrical and Control Hardware).

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (or a related fields), with a solid foundation in Systems Engineering and Product Industrialization across the Value Chain
  • Minimum of 10 years of industry experience in engineering or product development roles is valuable
  • Prior experience in the wind energy sector with extensive knowledge and understanding of the design of mechanical or electrical components and its Industrialization by collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment of these systems, while adhering to industry standards and best practices

Competencies

We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates the following competencies and personal attributes:

  • Extensive systems engineering background with technical knowledge in Wind Turbines, or related electromechanical systems
  • Motivation for early-stage development, acting on concept exploration by understanding the customer end user and its conversion to Integration Requirements
  • Demonstrated technical leadership skills with the ability to engage and align diverse stakeholders to ensure effective solutions
  • Evidence of consistently guiding projects and initiatives from initial ideas to final execution, including Industrialization
  • Capable of leading, mentoring, and developing engineers and functional leads across multiple teams
  • Proficient problem solving, communication, and technical writing skills, with motivation and the ability to create a collaborative framework of design for manufacture, assembly (DfX)
  • Works well with others and shows a thorough commitment to quality and data-based decision making.
