Global Procurement is responsible for all procurement activities within Vestas, including leading cross functional category teams, negotiations and contract management, development of end-to-end cost out initiatives, category strategy development and supplier relationship management.
This position sits within the Hub Category and is part of a highly collaborative global team based in Aarhus, Porto and Beijing. As a Global Strategic Purchaser, you will play a key role in supporting the Commodity Team and overseeing supplier management tasks. You'll contribute to shaping category performance, optimizing our supply base, and ensuring we deliver on Vestas' strategic and operational goals.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the Supplier Account Management activities for selected suppliers, ensuring consistent performance and continuous development, including selection, qualification, negotiation and contracting
- Support the implementation of the Commodity Strategy & Supplier Account Plans, contributing to targets related to cost, quality, delivery, and risk
- Manage and participate in supplier negotiations, securing competitive agreements and optimizing the global supply chain based on total landed cost
- Develop and maintain supplier agreements (e.g., Purchase Agreements, Price agreements, NDAs), in close collaboration with stakeholders, including R&D and Legal
- Implement procurement-related activities, collaborating with the cross functional team, ensuring alignment on new product introductions, costing, supply chain risk mitigation, and performance management
- Act as the Procurement responsible in cross functional initiatives and projects, such as Cost-Out activities
- Identify and support the delivery of cost out opportunities through market analysis, continuous improvements, and end-to-end value optimization
- Support transactional activities, reporting tasks, and resolution of contractual issues as needed
- Ensure full compliance with Vestas Global Processes, Policies, and Standards across all procurement activities
Qualifications
- A degree within a relevant field, such as Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or similar
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a comparable procurement role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and experience working with SAP/SAP Ariba
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
- Effective communication skills with demonstrated experience in effective stakeholder management
- Solid negotiation experience, including handling high‑value spend categories

This is a hybrid position based in Porto, Portugal and requires up to 30 days of travel per year
