Are you interested in working with a skilled team in an inspiring work environment?
Technology & Operations > Research & Development (R&D) > Project Execution
The Project Execution department is a vital part of the Turbine Control Software organization within Vestas Technology & Operations. Our department is responsible for providing software development solutions that make Vestas' turbines efficient and safe to operate. As part of the Project Execution department, you will collaborate with experienced Scrum Masters, Technical Leads, and Project Managers across India, Portugal, and Denmark to enable high‑quality, predictable delivery of complex software solutions. As a member of the Project Execution team, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging and impactful turbine and plant product projects that contribute to a sustainable future.
Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced Delivery Manager to join the new Controls Solution and enable the effective delivery of complex turbine control initiatives within our operating model. As a Delivery Manager, you will connect project and portfolio commitments with execution across Solutions, Agile Release Trains and the wider value chain. You will be responsible for project governance, financial and commercial coordination, milestone and gate readiness, risk transparency, stakeholder alignment, and the integration of project scope into the Agile planning cadence. You will work closely with Solution and ART leadership, Project Owners, Product Owners, technical leaders, Finance, Quality, Sourcing, Manufacturing, suppliers, and other business stakeholders to ensure that commitments are realistic, transparent, and supported by objective evidence.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Manage and deliver assigned projects within agreed scope, cost, schedule, quality, risk, and benefit tolerances, while serving as the primary project-level integration point across solutions, ARTs, and stakeholders
- Translate project objectives into Agile execution, converting milestones, requirements, and external commitments into planning inputs, while ensuring visibility and readiness ahead of PI Planning
- Align project delivery with the shared PI cadence, coordinating timelines, dependencies, constraints, and trade-offs across Solutions, ARTs, and supporting functions
- Maintain project governance and lifecycle management, including project initiation, tailoring, authorization, change control, stage boundaries, milestones, gates, reviews, and compliance with Vestas governance processes
- Coordinate decision-making and readiness reviews, ensuring Project Management Reviews and gate forums receive complete, timely, and evidence-based inputs
- Provide integrated project control and reporting, consolidating delivery evidence from ARTs, maintaining the project risk, issue, action, and decision landscape, and escalating deviations outside agreed tolerances
- Manage project financials, forecasting, and change requests, ensuring scope, cost, and schedule changes are reflected consistently across project controls, governance artifacts, budgets, forecasts, and project plans
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, business, project management or a related area, or equivalent professional experience
- At least 5 years of experience in project, program or delivery management in a complex engineering or product-development environment
- Demonstrated experience managing scope, schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies and stakeholder expectations.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate across technical teams, business functions, suppliers and geographically distributed stakeholders
- Ability to translate high-level commitments into structured plans and planning inputs without micromanaging delivery teams
- Practical understanding of Agile, Lean and flow-based delivery in a scaled engineering environment
- Experience with Jira, planning tools, project financial systems, risk-management tools
- Experience with embedded software, control systems, wind energy or another safety-critical engineering domain is valuable
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
Competencies
- Governance and delivery discipline - maintains control of commitments, tolerances, milestones, reviews, financials and decisions without creating unnecessary administrative overhead
- Systems thinking - Understands how project commitments interact across solutions, ARTs, teams, architecture and the wider value chain
- Stakeholder leadership - Creates alignment across stakeholders with different priorities and decision rights
- Commercial and financial awareness - Connects scope, capacity, timing, purchasing and budget implications
- Evidence-based decision support - Distinguishes reported progress from demonstrated maturity and readiness
- Risk and dependency management - Makes risks and external dependencies visible early and encourages ownership and resolution
- Collaboration without authority - Enables delivery through clear agreements and escalation rather than directing Agile Team activities
- Managing change in transformation - Can preserve delivery and governance continuity while maturing the operational model
- International teamwork: Works effectively in an international environment, adjusting coaching style and delivery approach to each team’s maturity and context
