The Life-cycle Management (LCM) team is responsible for guaranteeing the entire life-cycle of our turbines by fulfilling all value chain operational requests on active or legacy products, complying with the Powertrain governance. The LCM team branches into 3 main pillars: Cost-out, Input Signal Management, and Design Maintenance, with Engineering Change Management as support to all branches. The Cost-out part of LCM is designed to lead Powertrain and Vestas to be more ambitious in our products and are a big part of the current focus of the team.

 
Responsibilities

  • As a Cost-out specialist, you will be responsible for tracking all our cost-out initiatives, guaranteeing that we develop and maintain our pipeline and achieve Vestas and Powertrain's targets
  • Work closely with our cost managers to ensure that we have full control of our pipeline and our costs
  • Work closely with procurement, the other sub-modules, and any other necessary stakeholders to guarantee that all cost-out (commercial and technical) initiatives are being implemented
  • Create metrics that link the technical functionality (with the PTR technical team) to the direct product costs of all components of the Powertrain
  • With the created metrics defined and understood, encourage both the technical teams and the cost-management/sourcing teams to develop the cost-out pipeline
  • Work in collaboration with Vestas Should-Cost team to ensure that Powertrain is on the right track in terms of cost and lead any necessary actions to guarantee competitiveness
  • Support the cost-out team in building and maintaining our cost-out database framework as well as all data pulls are correct and proceed with necessary data analysis
  • Prepare all Cost-out convention material to present to executive management
  • Support the LCM cost-out team overall

 
Qualifications

  • Academic degree in business, finance, engineering, or equivalent
  • Overall experience of 10+ years, which includes 5+ years of experience in a similar position
  • In-depth understanding and experience working with procurement, finance, as well as design development projects (techno-commercial knowledge and comprehensive business knowledge required)
  • In-depth knowledge and experience on should-cost models (experience as a should-cost engineer can add value) as well as cost-out projects (techno-commercial knowledge and comprehensive business knowledge required)
  • Proven record of significant stakeholder management skills, including experience with communication to the senior management level
