Vestas Offshore Service Support and Electrical Operations Department, is part of the overall Offshore Service business in the APAC region, working closely with the Operational Service Team, Sales, Special Projects and Construction. Responsible for the service site setup, support, and preparation, including long term strategic planning for the APAC offshore service regions. You will work closely with Electrical operations, Electrical safety, APAC Offshore Service Departments and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance to Vestas QSE Management system.

• Authorized under Vestas WTSR/ ENSR as an Authorizing Engineer, you will support the Control of Hazardous Energy/electrical safety programme for the wind farms in scope in APAC.

• Electrical and mechanical operations.

• Creating, reviewing and approving Approved Written Procedures in line with company's rules, support procedures, management instructions and site/regional requirements.

• Review and approval of service procedures (Method Statements, Work Instructions, SIIs, SIFs - SII & SIF are Vestas's terminologies) and Risk Assessments.

• Verification of Points of Isolations (100% check on a WTG - either themself or in coordination with an appointed site technician), and Safety Precautions to achieve "Safety from the System".

• Writing and reviewing bespoke procedures in collaboration with the technical documentation department.

• On site WTG technical and WTSR/ ENSR support.

• Reviewing specialist tools for the region as required by the company procedures.

• Conducting on site WTSR/ ENSR training/induction as per the site/regional requirements.

• Liaising with relevant personnel on WTSR/ ENSR documents related issues.

• Assisting the implementation of new procedures/processes.

• Input to monthly customer report, as required by the site management.

• Support to the regional service/construction management.

• Responsible for the safe operation of the Vestas offshore' electrical installations in APAC.

• Administration responsibility and competence in their field of work.

• Development and review of processes, risk assessments and instructions for electrical installation and maintenance work.

• Participating in internal and external auditing connected with the Vestas offshore wind farms in APAC.

• Supporting wind farms in the creation and implementation of Vestas SSoW.

• Participating in customer meetings where required by the management.

• Supporting QSE department with regards to the electrical safety and associated incident investigations.

• Reporting to the direct line management, and closely work together with them and other QSE professionals.

• Participate in subject matter expert workgroups, internal and external in the industry, and share / gain knowledge.

• Responsible for communicating SSoW notifications to relevant stakeholders.

• Ensure compliance of QSE systems and processes.

• Ensure compliance with statutory legislation for Health and Safety.

• Provide ad-hoc SSoW related support and assistance to the direct line management.

 

Qualifications

• University degree in the field of electrical engineering (or electro-mechanical) or similar subject is desirable.

• Qualification as an electrical/technical engineer in the field of electro-mechanical engineering.

• Previous experience within the energy sector, e.g. with a distribution system operator, an OEM or a wind farm developer in a similar role is desirable.

• Profound know-how of the relevant local norms and guidelines is desirable.

• Profound operational experiences in the field of installation, servicing, and maintenance of the electrical systems.

• For example, relevant previous wind industry technical & operational experience working with Vestas WTGs.

• Good knowledge of low voltage, high voltage, and relevant policy knowledge in electrical networks.

• Knowledge of operations management systems.

• Good awareness for occupational safety.

• Ability and fitness to visit offshore sites as well as working at height.

• A structured and systematic approach to problem solving.
