EVP Area – Service – Global Service Commercial & Products – Value Engineering  

The Value Engineering department within the Global Service Business Unit works closely together with both the regional sales business units and global functions to win long term service contracts and support Vestas´ "Profitable Growth" strategy. The role is focused on sales optimization through value engineering as well as governing the process of closing the contracts in the most efficient way. 


The role reports directly to Head of Commercial Management Office. As Senior Specialist, Value Engineering & Contractual Governance, you will bring relevant expertise and experience in the wind industry and have global accountability and responsibility for bringing continuous efforts maximizing profitability and optimizing the effectiveness of the contractual offerings.
This position focuses on commercial sales growth, including but not limited to:

  • Subject matter expertise and commercial leadership in value engineering across the global service sale organizations
  • Review significant deals with deviations to Vestas' standard commercial terms and formulate recommendations for value optimization and risk mitigation
  • Further develop and optimize sales governance to ensure swift deal execution with adequate risk mitigation considering regional market conditions
  • Actively support the regional service sales, for complex innovative environments such as energy auctions, complex energy tenders and forward sales activities
  • Global interface with group functions on pricing and costing matters as it relates to sales incl. in-depth pricing and costing analysis particularly in a market-based/competitive context
  • Continuously improve and set the agenda for progressing the sales strategy and ensure best practice in close relationship with frontline sales in the regions
  • Lead and contribute to the development of configure, price, quote tool infrastructure to meet the Global Service goal of one way of working



  • 5 - 10 years of highly relevant energy industry experience, with preference for renewables
  • Master's degree with focus on quantitative analysis (e.g., Finance, Engineering, Economics etc.) is preferable
  • Analytical experience/expertise in financial modelling, valuations, corporate or project finance/financial analysis are a minimum requirement
  • Commercial experience with contractual negotiations and sales activities is advantageous
  • Renewable energy finance market experience with development, infrastructure advisory or consulting, project finance or investment banking is a major plus



  • Advance excel and model competencies is a prerequisite
  • Leadership in your field and the ability to establish influential relationships at all levels internally and externally
  • Highly analytical with a holistic approach and solid problem-solving skills and quantitative aptitude
  • Solid communication and presentation skills. Able to communicate and collaborate across professions, cultures and with all professional levels
  • Be comfortable personally and professionally in a sales environment where deadlines can be short
  • Interest in economics/finance/policy and acute awareness and attention to the energy industry and finance industry
  • Sharp technology aptitude, technical insight and understanding, and curiosity in the innovation space

Additional Information
Location: You will be based at Vestas’ office either in Copenhagen, Denmark, or in one of our regional European sales units. 
International travel is expected and flexibility in this regard is a critical part of the role.
