Responsibilities 

• Conduct thorough inspections of gearboxes to identify wear, damage, and potential failures
• Perform diagnostic tests and analyze results to determine the condition of gearboxes
• Document inspection findings and provide detailed reports
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to develop and implement corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and maintenance activities
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance gearbox reliability and performance

Qualifications 

• Trade Test or National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from a recognized South African institution
• Proven experience as a gearbox inspector or in a similar role within the wind energy industry
• Strong understanding of gearbox mechanics and diagnostic techniques
• Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Commitment to safety and quality standards

• In-depth knowledge of gearbox mechanics, diagnostic techniques, and inspection tools
• Attention to Detail: Ability to meticulously inspect gearboxes and identify even the smallest signs of wear or damage
