Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of gearboxes to identify wear, damage, and potential failures
- Perform diagnostic tests and analyze results to determine the condition of gearboxes
- Document inspection findings and provide detailed reports
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to develop and implement corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and maintenance activities
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance gearbox reliability and performance
Qualifications
- Trade Test or National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from a recognized South African institution
- Proven experience as a gearbox inspector or in a similar role within the wind energy industry
- Strong understanding of gearbox mechanics and diagnostic techniques
- Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Commitment to safety and quality standards
