BBBEE, Economic Development & Business Administration is responsible for managing and overseeing Vestas South Africa's transformation, Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE), Economic Development (ED), localization, and socio-economic impact strategy. 

The role ensures compliance with all applicable legislation, regulatory frameworks, customer obligations, and corporate governance requirements while delivering measurable transformation outcomes that create sustainable business value. In addition, the role provides leadership for key business administration functions, supporting operational excellence, governance, reporting, stakeholder management, and effective business operations across the South African organization. The incumbent acts as the subject matter expert and trusted advisor to executive management, functional leaders, customers, shareholders, verification agencies, government stakeholders, and development partners on all transformation, economic development, and business administration matters.

 

 

Responsibilities

1.BBBEE Strategy, Governance & Compliance

  • Maintain, improve and implement Vestas South Africa's BBBEE and Transformation Strategy aligned to corporate objectives and South African legislative requirements

Oversee the company's BBBEE compliance programme across all scorecard elements, including:

  • Interpret and communicate legislative, regulatory, and policy developments impacting transformation and BBBEE compliance
  • Provide strategic recommendations to management regarding transformation opportunities, risks, and compliance requirements
  • Maintain, Review and recommend governance processes, controls, and reporting frameworks to support full regulatory compliance

2. Economic Development (ED) & REIPPPP Commitments

  • Oversee the development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of Economic Development commitments associated with renewable energy projects and customer contractual obligations

3. Enterprise & Supplier Development

4. Employment Equity & Skills Development

5. Audit, Verification & Regulatory Reporting

6. Stakeholder Engagement & Strategic Advisory

7. Senior Business Administration & Governance

  • Handle key administrative and governance functions supporting the South African business
  • Manage business reporting, document governance, record management, and compliance administration
  • Coordinate executive and management reporting requirements
  • Support internal audits, risk management activities, and compliance reviews
  • Support and guide contracts administration, supplier onboarding governance, and administrative compliance processes
  • Ensure compliance and coordinated approach and administration of all Vestas facilities by the various administrators. You will be responsible for the Johannesburg office

8. Financial Management & Budget Control

  • Develop, forecast, manage, monitor and track BBBEE, Economic Development, and community investment budgets

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Law, Human Resources, Public Management, Development Studies, Finance, or related field
  • It will be valuable: Postgraduate qualification in Transformation Management, Sustainability, Governance, Economics, Development Studies, or Business Management

Additional information

This is position is based in Johannesburg, South Africa and requires up to 5% of travel per year. Applicants are required to possess a valid driver's license.
