Vestas Factory

The Trade Assistant will report to the site supervisor, and supports tradespeople, contractors, and Vestas technicians for the upkeep and maintenance of the wind turbines in accordance with the contract and other site requirements.  Support is provided by an administrator and a planner with KPI's given by the Area Service Manager. The department is a small team environment based at Kennedy Energy Park.  

 

This Trade Assistant role will assist in supporting our skilled Turbine Technicians. You will help ensure scheduled maintenance and breakdowns are carried out safely, efficiently, and effectively.

 

Responsibilities

•    Ensure the safety of worksites
•    Assist with general workshop and warehouse operations
•    Assist with maintenance according to qualification and competency
•    Assist with planning and predict tooling requirements
•    Undertake tasks to support timely scheduled maintenance and successful reactive maintenance activities
•    Support our Service Maintenance Agreement KPIs
•    Ensure tasks are undertaken according to policy and that work methods are followed
•    Complying with the duty of care assigned under OH&S legislation and demonstrate commitment to accident prevention
•    Observing all work instructions, procedures, safety codes of practice, employer OH&S and Environmental requirements and statutory rules and regulations
•    Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment as required
•    Participate in safety, toolbox or other meetings where required
•    All other duties within competence, skill, qualifications and experience as directed

 

Qualifications

•   Driving license

 

Competencies

•    PC literate, preferably MS Office
•    Ability to learn new skills
•    Flexible for working conditions that may change unexpectedly
