The HSE department for Onshore Service North, supports the Service Organisation, we are responsible for assisting the service business deliver Safety First in more than 16 countries across Europe, Republic of Ireland and the UK. This role is based in Houthalen, Belgium. The role is supporting the Benelux region.
Responsibilities
- Support onshore operations in improving safety culture, delivering HSE campaigns and training, and managing all related reporting and tasks
- Conduct regular proactive site visits, including point‑of‑work and facility inspections
- Review, update, and help create HSE documentation such as risk assessments and toolbox talks
- Participate in internal/external HSE inspections, meetings, and toolbox talks
- Monitor HSE processes, ensure alignment with customer requirements, and join customer meetings as needed
- Support incident investigations and collaborate with managers and O&M teams on corrective and preventive actions
- Maintain the legal register and ensure compliance with local legislation, Vestas policies, and regional HSE requirements
Qualifications
- Experience in a similar HSE position within the wind power/energy sector or another relevant industry
- Certified Prevention Advisor Level 2 (“Preventieadviseur Niveau 2”)
- Solid background in HSE policies, procedures, and incident management, including reporting, registration, and investigation
- Proven ability to review, develop, and maintain HSE documentation such as risk assessments and toolbox talks
- Solid understanding of risk assessment methodologies, COSHH, and the application of appropriate control measures
- Experience in electrical, mechanical, or construction environments is considered an advantage
- Required fluency in Dutch and English and full Category B driving license

- Ability to coach teams and promote a positive safety culture rather than simply enforcing rules
- Flexible to travel across Belgium, the Netherlands, and the wider Service North region
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and fast to pick up new digital tools
- Keeps a steady demeanor during demanding moments, seeks continuous development, and is able to carry out work at height (GWO-WAH beneficial)

Primary work location: Houthalen, Belgium
Expected travel for this role: up to 80 days per year, most travel will not require overnight stays
