We help support Vestas North America's strategy through market knowledge, partnerships, and curiosity. Our team brings together market, policy, data analytics, and economics knowledge to deliver useful insights, tools, and project management support across all areas of the North American business unit. We support areas including Turbine & Service Sales, Public Affairs, Product Strategy, Supply Chain, and Operations. As a cross-functional, collaborative team, we meet the diverse challenges and opportunities that shape the clean energy market.
Responsibilities
Serve as go to person for market insights; provide market overviews and updates to internal and external audiences.
Manage Vestas North America forecasting deliverables including the Total Market Forecast for onshore wind and the 5-year turbine sales outlook in collaboration with the Sales Operations team. Manage the data underpinning the forecasts and manage internal and external stakeholders throughout the process.
• Coordinate and manage the regular update cadence for inputs into the Wind Park Economics model (a financial model used to estimate our customers' business case) in collaboration with the Value Engineering team.
• Diligence onshore project pipeline for project maturity including federal permits and interconnection status.
• Serve as the primary liaison to the Product Strategy team. Help align on Use Cases, technology assumptions, portfolio evolution, and related cross-functional projects.
• Provide recommendations to the Service Commercial team on Liquidated Damage rates $ / MWh, using the Wind Park Economics model.
Data Analysis, Visualization, and Continuous Improvement
• Serve as the experienced user in data visualization tools (PowerBI, experience in R) to support effective decision-making
• Own the Market Intel & Strategy SharePoint and populate it with PowerBI dashboards on relevant and frequently requested market data.• Collaborate with partner departments to build, maintain, and enhance the ArcGIS platform.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in data utilization and decision-making processes.
• Consistently seek out and propose enhancements to data-related practices.
Serve as the internal expert on external data sources relevant to the Wind Industry by maintaining an opinion on the most reliable data source that Vestas should use for different purposes, maintaining relationships with external organizations to develop deep understanding of external firms' assumptions and conclusions.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s-level education; education in energy, economics, engineering, finance, environmental management, or public policy.
• 5+ years of professional experience.
• Demonstrates willingness to learn, ability to adjust to changing priorities, and is able to work effectively on their own.
• Technical familiarity / knowledge of wind turbines.
Technical Skills
• Solid forecasting and modeling capabilities.
• Proficiency in Excel. Experience in ArcGIS, R, PowerBI and other data visualization and analytics tools
• Ability to manage complex datasets and ensure data integrity.
• Comfortable completing varied quantitative analyses. Experience modeling the economics of wind, solar, or battery storage projects

• Clear, compelling communicator who can explain complex analyses to senior audiences.

Finance, Operations, and Global stakeholders.
• Takes responsibility for deliverables with high quality and timeliness.
