Digital Specialist
The Digital Specialist plays a critical role in protecting and enhancing the reputation of Vestas North America through timely, efficient, and impactful communications. This role engages both external audiences, ensuring consistent, strategic messaging aligned with business objectives. The specialist will leverage digital channels to reach key stakeholders including the public, media, customers, industry partners, and employees.
Responsibilities
Channel Management & Content Creation

Manage Vestas North America digital presence and footprint including social media channels, company website and search advertising.

Develop and implement a digital content strategy that aligns with regional business priorities and resonates with diverse audiences, leveraging all relevant digital channels (social media, website, podcasts, programmatic advertising etc.).

In collaboration with External Communications Lead Specialist and Global partners, advance company's social media programs.

Manage the creation of compelling, high-quality digital content including graphics, videos, animations, and interactive formats to drive engagement and strengthen Vestas' brand presence across all platforms.

Stay current on emerging digital platforms, tools, and trends to identify new opportunities for engagement and pilot new formats to expand reach and relevance.

Using digital channels, promote wind energy careers and build the employer brand, with a focus on technician hiring in key markets.

Oversee Vestas North America web presence, collaborating with internal teams to ensure content is current, human-forward, and public-facing.

Partner with External Communications Lead Specialist to execute on social media playbook for senior leaders, including identifying thought leadership opportunities and managing content calendars.

Source and craft authentic stories from internal and external stakeholders to humanize the brand and support employer branding initiatives.

Collaborate closely with the Global Marketing and Global Communication teams.
Governance
-
Establish and maintain governance frameworks for digital channels, including, but not limited to, response frameworks, situational readiness and messaging alignment.

Develop and enforce content guidelines, tone of voice, and publishing protocols across platforms.

Support digital response efforts during reputational issues or crises, ensuring timely, coordinated messaging across platforms.

Maintain readiness protocols and escalation paths for digital communications in collaboration with the External Communications Lead Specialist.

Manage budgets for paid campaigns, ad spend, or tools. Coordinate with agencies, freelancers, or vendors (creative, media buying, influencers).
Analytics & Reporting

Monitor and report on channel performance, engagement metrics, and adherence to KPIs, using insights to refine strategy and ensure accountability, with a special focus on growth in engagement and reach in priority markets.

Share actionable insights with relevant internal stakeholders.

Track and monitor the digital environment inc. social listening to identify emerging themes, breaking news, and misinformation, promptly sharing insights with internal stakeholders.
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred

5+ years of relevant experience

A highly creative mindset; the ability to think conceptually and strategically

Demonstrated project management skills; the ability to handle multiple diverse priorities and programs at any given time
-
Ability to work with diverse cultures and time zones
-
High-quality written and verbal communication and presentation skills with solid ability to characterize complex ideas into compelling corporate messaging
-
Ability to travel up to 15% of time

Drivers' license and ability to obtain a passport is required
Competencies:
- Social media campaigns: Extensive experience running paid and organic campaigns across platforms like LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and Instagram.

Content creation: Advanced skills in graphic design and video editing (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut etc.) to produce visually compelling and shareable content.

Website Management: Experience updating and maintaining websites using content management systems.

Search visibility: Ability to make sure our content shows up in search engines, both through free methods (SEO) and paid campaigns.

Tracking performance: Comfortable using analytics tools to track what's working online and explain the results in plain language.

Strategic mindset: Ability to look beyond individual posts and think about how digital content supports the bigger business goals.

Sound judgment in sensitive situations: Ability to make good decisions about what should and shouldn't be shared online, especially during rapidly unfolding or challenging situations.

Collaboration and persuasion: Effective skills in working with people at all levels - from teammates to executives - to build alignment and bring ideas to life.

Storytelling: Ability to turn technical or industry-heavy information into content that comes across as human, engaging, and easy to understand for a wide audience.
