Field Service Manager - Service South Region

Sales/SBU AME/South Region

The Field Service Manager is responsible for all phases of Field projects, planning/coordination and management of the repair or upgrade. The field project manager works closely with the client manager, and in many instances, FPM will be the client facing representative during execution of a project. The FPM reviews the specs, RFQ and SOW to bid the project. FPM books the project and executes the project, documenting progress and finances. The PM takes the lead role on client communications and keeps the Site Manager and Field Coordinator current on progress for each project until closing and invoicing of the project.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and manage Field Service projects for the Turbine repair, Blades, Upgrades as well as develop list of prospective customers with managers, and determine appropriate strategy
  • Analyze and understand customer requirements and also be in charge of Internal Vestas coordination to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction with our services and equipment
  • Complete ownership of Field Service projects, execute or delegate projects as necessary, and prepare accurate quotations in accordance with internal processes
  • Negotiate with clients on projects regarding job scope and pricing as well as develop and maintain detailed schedules as required at the proposal and execution phases
  • Initiate project manpower requirements and tooling requirements and actively manage project costs and margins, identifying and resolving issues proactively
  • Communicate with client and management during the project, relative to costs and job progress and collect project daily report information, assessments, repair reports from other project manages when necessary
  • Work with internal coordinators to review and book client purchase orders, hold internal kick off meetings as required, order tooling and miscellaneous consumables, issue internal and external requisitions so PO’s are generated to support project
  • Coordinate schedule of work with customer and internal resources, organize time sheets and vendor invoices for submittal to support timely invoicing, prepare WIP reporting and data in support of weekly meetings, and coordinate generation and submittal of client final reports.
  • Responsible for Revenue generation which includes budget targets for the Region.
  • Develop list of prospective customers with Site managers for the area. Determine appropriate strategy to engage customer and create pipeline opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Customer relations is key to this position
  • Experience and knowledge of wind turbines and power plant operations is preferred. Will consider similar industry and/or technology such as hydraulic, rotating heavy equipment service and maintenance
  • Experience managing safety programs that include LOTO, Electrical, Fall Arrest & High Angle Emergency Decent, and Confined Space.
  • Previous accountability for budgeting, P&L, and cost management. 
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve customer loyalty through effective relationships and demonstration of value differentiation. 
  • Valid driver's license, passport and ability to travel as needed to meet business objectives.
  • Ability to successfully complete a 200-400 foot pre-employment climb test, pre-employment physical and drug screen, criminal background check, and driving record check. Knowledge of technical drawings and schematics.
