Sales Engineer

We are looking at a dynamic sales engineer you will be responsible to secure new wind turbine supply and service contracts as part of a sales team in the assigned markets, primarily Vietnam, in accordance with agreed annual sales volume and profitability targets. 

 

Sales > SBU Asia Pacific > WTG Sales Operations

As a Vestas Sales engineer you will be a strong member of the broader sales team that builds Vestas' Wind turbine order book and delivers sustainable growth across Asia, with a strong focus on Vietnam.

 

Key Responsibility:

  • Prepare accurate wind farm configurations in our dedicated IT systems based on input from various technical and commercial stakeholders
  • Retrieve, review and challenge cost assumptions and drive optimization of our offerings to improve our win rate
  • Develop a thorough understanding of each new project for which a proposal is to be developed and the key buying criteria / financial metrics upon which the customer will make their purchase decision
  • Interact with multiple internal and external stakeholders to perform value engineering activities
  • Perform competitive benchmarking and economic analyses to understand our competitive positioning and inform pricing strategies
  • Secure the project's approval path through internal gate reviews by preparing and delivering compelling, high quality presentations
  • Secure the order intake by coordinating the actions of the cross functional team during contract negotiations and financial close
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc updates to senior management on the status and required actions by way of reports or live meetings/ conference calls

 

Qualification:

  • Prior experience with large infrastructure projects is helpful but not mandatory
  • Advanced analytical skills with proven track record in solving complex techno-commercial challenges
  • Strong commercial acumen and financial literacy
  • Work effectively in a cross functional, geographically dispersed team while maintaining accountability for your tasks
  • Ability to identify, quantify and manage risks in large infrastructure projects
  • Strong people and stakeholder management skills
