As a Repair Services Manager you are responsible for the safe and profitable execution of wind turbine repairs at Wind Farms with or without existing service contracts with Vestas or its subsidiaries. As a Repair Services Manager, you will hire, develop, train, and coordinate a designated number of technicians to work safely and efficiently while completing the designated turbine repairs within your regional area of responsibility. While completing these repairs, you will also be expected to identify and deliver process improvement projects to increase safety and efficiency of turbine repairs.



  • Responsible for safety and to profitably plan and carry out assigned turbine repair projects.
  • Hire, train, develop, and supervise between 8 to 12 technicians responsible for carrying out designated repair projects within their regional area of responsibility.
  • Embrace corporate safety standards and ensure team members are properly trained and comply with organizational standards.
  • Develop and carry out project plans for assigned repair projects.
  • Communicate project plan and status to internal and external stakeholders. as well as resolve any project issues that may arise with the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Provide support to sales team in proposal development.
  • Provide input to development team on requisite improvements to tooling, work instructions, and spare parts.
  • Identify and direct requisite changes to team functions to improve safety or efficiency.
  • Develop and mentor managers at Vestas service contract sites to efficiently carry out turbine repair work that is out of scope from their service contract. This repair work is generally for major corrective and infrequently completed repairs.
  • Collaborate with Resource Group to supervise a team of technicians in a multiple-project environment across North America.
  • Identify and develop key vendors necessary to implement project strategy.
  • Support organizational continuous quality improvement processes to reduce defects in parts, repairs, and service.



  • 3 - 5 years of experience as a project manager, project lead, or other management experience, preferably in a related service, industrial or manufacturing setting; demonstrated ability to build and direct a focused team / operation.
  • General technical background with experience developing repairs, tooling, and procedures
  • Proven success in understanding commercial terms and negotiation strategy, balancing business profitability, and customer needs.
  • Professional leadership skills; proven ability in coaching, mentoring, motivating and developing employees to achieve a highly aligned, motivated, and engaged team. Converts strategy into action-oriented goals and communicates the direction with enthusiasm.
  • Proven experience supervising small teams.
  • Proven experience succeeding in cross-functional environment
  • Proven ability to supervise sub-contractors.
  • Effective change and conflict management; proven decision-making ability with balanced risk taking; applies expertise to get results leveraging group interaction and areas of specialty.
  • Highly self-driven with demonstrated accountability and ownership; functions effectively under pressure in environments of rapid change and conflicting demands; enjoys multi-tasking; demonstrates a sense of urgency in meeting commitments
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement and quality methodology skills; effective issue resolution and structured problem-solving methodology; recommends and directs improvements in existing products / services to better meet customer needs.
  • Professional English communications skills (verbal, active listening, written, meeting management, presentation)
  • Solid PC computer skills (MS Office) required.
  • Solid technical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems to develop repairs. Knowledge to include technical drawings and schematics.
  • Experienced with customer interaction and business development.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Ability to effectively complete a 200 – 400 foot pre-employment climb test, pre-employment physical and drug screen, criminal background check, and driving record check



  • Ability to build and supervise a high functioning team of technicians.
  • Valid driver's license, passport, and ability to travel as needed to meet business goals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to interact frequently with others in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to effectively cross-functionally supervise a team.
