Tower Project Manager (f/m/d)

The External Logistic Operations (Tower Segment) team within Global Planning and Logistic, is responsible for delivering wind towers (made of steel or concrete hybrid towers) on demand and of the highest quality through subcontracted activities in a Global scale with production based on 5 regions (Sales business Units: AME, LATAM, NCE, MED, ASP).

The External Logistic Operations team is looking for a Project Manager for monitoring and controlling the manufacturing and implementations of towers in external sub-contractors located in Europe and with special focus on North Central Europe region.

The Project Manager role is to work as an effective catalyst between various Functional departments and Business Units of Vestas across the globe to carry out internal & external projects effectively.

Responsibilities

• Ensure tower manufacturing in assigned factories is completed on time fulfilling Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost Targets
• Coordinating outsourced manufacturing of wind towers in NCE Region (with priority on concrete hybrid towers)
• Cross functional collaboration with stakeholders of towers through the supply chain (from Material Purchasing to towers production and delivery to customer)
• The primary goal is to have turbine towers ready in accordance with demand plans
• Ensure resource availability with all stakeholders to coordinate projects without any delays
• Focused risk mitigation of key risks in project cycle including appropriate communication to key stakeholders and Management team
• Support the development of new sub-contractors for tower production

Qualifications

• Project management skills
• Mechanical / Structural engineering background with knowledge of concrete and steel structures manufacturing processes.
• Experience on wind turbine tower manufacturing would be good, but it is not a requirement
• Fluent English in writing and speaking is a requirement
• High interpersonal skills (able to communicate clearly at any level) in German and English
• knowledge in production setup (including planning and implementation) and systems /processes followed in large companies'
