Within Vestas Wind Systems, the Construction department in Northern & Central Europe (NCE) is responsible for delivering construction projects across the region safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with the required quality standards.

As part of NCE Construction, the Installation & Commissioning (I&C) department oversees the pre-installation, installation, and commissioning of wind turbines for both onshore and offshore projects throughout the region.

Within I&C, the Site Execution Management department has overall responsibility for the operational execution of all construction sites in NCE. This is achieved through the appointment and support of skilled, motivated Site Managers who lead site activities and ensure successful project delivery.

 

Responsibilities:

 

As the Site Manager (m/f/d) your main responsibility will be the organization of construction sites with the focus on safety, quality, budget, and time, as well as to:

  • Plan, schedule, and manage all site activities to meet project scope, budget, timeline, and quality targets.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and site personnel, ensuring permits, authorizations, and contract requirements are fulfilled.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety, quality, and legal regulations, implementing company HSE and Quality Control standards.
  • Prepare and organize the construction site before work begins, including inductions, toolbox talks, and documentation setup.
  • Maintain strong communication with stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and the project manager, providing regular progress updates.
  • Monitor daily construction progress, identify risks or issues, and implement corrective or preventive actions.
  • Manage site documentation and reporting, including progress reports, quality records, deviations, NCRs, and as‑built documentation.
  • Oversee deliveries, logistics, and scheduling, ensuring materials and equipment arrive on time and meet project needs.
  • Review and interpret contracts, technical documents, and project plans, providing input and ensuring alignment with execution.
  • Promote a positive, safe, and compliant work environment, driving company policies, standards, and continuous improvement on site.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Formal qualifications in the field of Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution will be an advantage
  • Proven working experience in the construction industry will be beneficial but not essential
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process
  • Knowledge in process safety standards and local legislation
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and German

  • Able to obtain and maintain GWO certification and country‑specific Construction Medical Check clearance.
