As the Legal Counsel (f/m/d) P&C, you will act as strategic and legal advisor to Vestas Northern & Central Europe (NCE) in matters pertaining to labour and employment law, primarily in Germany. You will support interactions and negotiations with works councils, trade unions, government bodies and other stakeholders, and will analyse, evaluate and clearly communicate issues pertaining to labour and employment. As part of this, you will assess, revise and draft necessary policies, negotiate agreements, train stakeholders, coordinate and strategically handle relevant litigations and disputes, and support the company's growth by providing timely, accurate and solution-oriented advice. Also, you will have the opportunity to broaden scope by working on matters unrelated to labour and employment law, such as general litigation and negotiation and drafting of general commercial contracts. As the Legal Counsel (f/m/d) P&C, you will report to the Director of General Legal & Legal Operations, with a dotted line to the Vice President of People & Culture.



  • Work closely with People & Culture and other stakeholders on a wide array of labor and employment matters, including recruiting/hiring/termination, compliance, processes, training and performance management; provide strategic and legal advice on the same
  • Interact and negotiate with works councils, trade unions, government bodies and other parties on labor and employment law-related issues
  • Draft and negotiate employment and consulting agreements, collective agreements and similar documents
  • Stay up-to-date on developments, trends and best practices in employment law, and clearly communicate these to interested stakeholders
  • Coordinate and handle relevant employment related litigations, disputes and proceedings, including (where needed) oversight of outside counsel
  • Handle some general contracts and matters unrelated to labor and employment law, such as general litigation and dispute resolution
  • Create useful plans, policies and procedures in furtherance of the company's business and in compliance with applicable laws
  • Collaborate and work closely with colleagues in an international, matrixed organization, sharing a special relationship with NCE's Legal & Compliance department on issues such as litigation, data privacy, operational compliance and the like



  • Specialized experience and expertise in German individual and collective employment and labor law, in a law firm or international in-house legal department. Familiarity with relevant laws of other jurisdictions (e.g., Austria, Netherlands, etc.) is an asset
  • Qualification as a full lawyer in Germany with license to represent the company in court cases
  • Experience negotiating with works councils and trade unions, including on plans and collective agreements
  • Demonstrated litigation and arbitration experience

  • Fluency: German and English, including legal and business terminology
  • Ability to effectively influence and communicate within all levels of a global organisation, as well as with third parties
  • Ability to prioritise among competing urgent matters and allocate resources for maximum impact
  • Ability to analyse complex problems and apply legal principles, facts and precedents to recommend adoption of an effective, practical and proper course of action
