Join Our Global Team as Lead Legal Counsel!

At Vestas Northern & Central Europe (NCE), we’re seeking a skilled Legal Counsel/(Lead) Specialist to join our diverse team. As part of our mission to improve wind turbine sales across 30 countries, you’ll contribute to renewable energy.

In your role as Legal Counsel/(Lead) Specialist for Legal Service NCE at Vestas Northern & Central Europe, you will be a member of a diverse, collaborative team that supports onshore and offshore wind turbine service in Northern & Central Europe providing legal support during the service phase of the wind turbines.

 

  • Strategic Legal Guidance: Draft and negotiate onshore and offshore service contracts and might support new wind turbine sales. You will manage disputes and potential litigation, coordinate the work of our external law firms, handle operations and maintenance contracts, and address corporate governance matters. Your pragmatic advice will support business growth.
  • Risk Management: Dive into complex legal cases, assess risks, and develop innovative solutions. Your legal acumen will mitigate challenges and propel our projects forward.
  • Global:Work on multi-jurisdictional initiatives, supporting our international sales, service, construction, and procurement teams. Your insights will shape our global footprint.
  • Continuous Improvement:Collaborate with our Legal & Compliance team to enhance processes, ensuring compliance with national legislation and internal guidelines.

 

Qualifications:

  • Legal Proficiency: You hold a qualification as a full lawyer (Volljurist/in) in Germany, backed by a minimum of 5 years’ work experience. Whether you’ve honed your skills in a law firm, a multinational organisation or matrixed organisation
  • Client-Centric Approach: Your demonstrated commitment to quality, business outcomes, and client satisfaction sets you apart.
  • Industry Insights: 5+ years of professional experience in a law-firm or in-house legal department. Knowledge in renewables, construction, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects gives you a unique edge, or familiarity with the Oil & Gas sector/ Construction industry is helpful
  • Contract Drafting: Having experience in drafting English- and German-language contracts (e.g. FIDIC Contracts) is beneficial, though not mandatory.
  • Innovative and Collaborative: You appreciate working in a close-knit, motivated team and enjoy problem-solving.
  • Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated skills in effectively negotiating and communicating within a global organisation and with third parties.
