Do you have solid experience in contract management and want to work in an international environment? Are you interested in renewable energy and want to contribute to the energy transition? Then this position might be just right for you.

 

In the Customer Project Execution department, you will support wind farm projects from contract signing to final acceptance. Together with colleagues from logistics, procurement, finance, sales, and legal, you’ll ensure our projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget – and meet the highest quality standards.

As a Contract Manager, you will protect Vestas’ commercial interests during the construction phase. You will advise the project team on contractual and economic matters and play a key role in ensuring our wind farms are efficiently implemented.

 

 

Your Role

  • Strategic and operational responsibility for all commercial and contractual matters during the construction phase.
  • Coordination and professional leadership of contract management activities within the project team.
  • Advising internal stakeholders on obligations and deliverables from turbine supply agreements and other project-related contracts.
  • Developing strategies to enforce claims against clients and subcontractors.
  • Ensuring contract-related communication and documentation is properly archived and continuously improved.
  • Identifying and assessing risks, deriving mitigation measures – fully integrated into risk management.
  • Analyzing potential damage scenarios and providing well-founded recommendations to stakeholders and management.
  • Facilitating complex contract negotiations and coordinating lessons learned to continuously improve our processes.
  • Supporting the development of our standards, tools, and training in contract management.

 

 

Your Profile

  • A university degree in law, business, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or a comparable field.
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in contract or project management (in the construction or energy sector is beneficial) with a focus on power plant or infrastructure projects (FIDIC/EPCI experience beneficial).
  • In-depth knowledge of contract application and interpretation in the construction and energy sectors.
  • Profound German and English skills, both written and spoken.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.
  • A structured, solution-oriented working style with proficient cost and safety awareness.
  • Experience engaging with diverse cultures, team spirit, and versatile communication skills at all levels.
  • Experience in leading complex topics professionally.

Additional Information

This position can be based in Hamburg or Berlin, alternatively in Husum or Vienna. You will have up to 20 travel days per year.

In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager Contract Management.
