Transport Procurement is organised around 3 work streams - one of them is Vessel & Ports. We are handling the volume flow of our global factories to the project site spread all over the world, and we are now looking for a manager (m/f/d) to head the chartering team.


Responsibilities
You will be responsible for handling all transport activities within the work stream Vessel & Ports with a team of three people. Your tasks will include:

  • Ensuring that the global volume flow from the factories is running accordingly to all plans, needs and standards
  • Supervising and coaching the team, ensuring the right level of competencies to support the business
  • Negotiate and manage long term COAs (Contracts of Affreightment) with carrier/owner, responsibility for budget spent on bookings 
  • Cooperating with internal and external stakeholders, both global and regional
  • Anticipating and evaluating future transport needs, making sure that these can be fulfilled
  • Making sure that activities within the field align with long-term targets and match to perspectives 
  • Adhere to compliance standards as well as safety and quality standards of Vestas, and set example in the team

 

Qualifications

  • Favourably completed University Degree, either in engineering or logistics
  • Experience with management of chartering in the MPV (Multipurpose Vessel) environment, either with a carrier/ owners or a forwarder
  • Some experience with supervising others
  • Good knowledge of chartering business, and a broad network among stakeholders within the field of transport
  • Fluency in both English and German, both verbally and in writing
  • High-quality Excel skills as well as good Power Point skills

Additional information

The position is located in Hamburg, DE. It covers 38 hours/week and includes 25% travelling.
