About the department
The HSE department is focused on supporting and empowering Vestas to build HSE Capacity at every level of the organization. We aim to ensure that every leader and employee has access to the necessary tools, systems and processes to ensure everyone goes home safely every day.

Your responsibilities – here's where you can get involved!
- You promote HSE excellence across contractor activities by reinforcing safe actions, accountability, and a commitment to improvement
- You oversee contractor HSE governance, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, corporate standards, and risk management expectations
- You will partner with Procurement, SQD, CPX, Service Operations, and HSE teams to embed HSE requirements throughout the contractor lifecycle
- You act as the central point of coordination for contractor HSE performance, ensuring alignment across functions and stakeholders
- You are responsible for analyzing audit results, field observations, and performance data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
- You turn insights into practical improvement plans, creating clear accountability, effective execution, and measurable results
- You track contractor performance and help implement corrective measures to advance operational Excellence and compliance
- You support cross-functional collaboration and best-practice sharing to keep improving contractor safety performance and organizational resilience
Your profile – what makes you well suited for this role
- You hold a degree or vocational qualification in Health & Safety, or a technical discipline such as Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- You have several years of HSE experience in an industrial setting and are familiar with the requirements of the wind energy sector, or you are ready to build knowledge in this area
- You have a solid grasp of international standards, including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, along with experience conducting risk assessments, identifying hazards, and applying relevant EU HSE regulations
- You have experience in contractor and subcontractor management and ideally possess knowledge of contract management
- You understand commercial drivers, can analyze performance metrics, identify trends, and develop data-driven solutions
- You are an effective communicator across all levels of the organization, can simplify complex ideas into actionable insights, and bring advanced negotiation skills
- You build strong networks, collaborate effectively within international teams, and bring a high level of cultural awareness
- You distinguish yourself with initiative, a solutions-focused mindset, and clear, transparent communication, taking on important issues even in difficult situations
- Fluency in English enhances your profile, and speaking German can further support your candidacy
