About the department
Portfolio Planning is a department within CPX (Customer Project Execution) under the Northern and Central Europe (NCE) business unit at Vestas. The department provides the planning foundation for executing wind farm projects within the project budget and in line with project milestones. This is done through careful scheduling of projects based on available capacities and taking project‑specific requirements into account.
In addition, Portfolio Planning is responsible for consolidating the capacity demand across the project portfolio. This includes planning external resources, scheduling installation cranes, considering supply chain constraints, and preparing reports for key stakeholders. Managing a high level of dynamics within the project portfolio, project requirements, and the supply chain is part of our daily work.

Your responsibilities – here's where you can get involved!
- You are responsible for capacity and resource planning across our entire project portfolio and manage the demand planning process
- You ensure optimal resource allocation, evaluate new requirements, and prioritize them based on strategic and economic criteria
- You identify risks early, respond promptly to planning changes, and stay closely aligned with all relevant stakeholders
- You create transparency by delivering meaningful reports on capacity, demand trends, and revenue developments
- You further develop tools, processes, and standards and improve interfaces with Procurement, Cost Management, and Project Planning
- You use historical data to enhance forecasts and decision models, making our long‑term planning more reliable
- You collaborate closely with Procurement, internal teams, and external suppliers and service partners
Your profile – what makes you well suited for this role
- You hold a degree in engineering, supply chain management, planning, business administration, or a comparable field
- You have experience in supply, project, or demand planning — within large, complex projects or renewable energy environments
- You are proficient in modern planning methods, work in a structured way, and use your solid analytical skills to make well‑founded decisions
- You communicate clearly, enjoy working with a wide range of stakeholders, and build reliable, trust‑based relationships — including with suppliers
- You are experienced in functional leadership and understand the financial implications of planning and project decisions
- You are skilled in Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Primavera or SAP BI
- You have technical understanding as well as basic knowledge of construction‑site processes and workflows
- You are comfortable with shifting priorities, enjoy working in an environment where priorities are regularly updated, and recognize opportunities to improve processes, structures, and ways of working
- Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken, round off your profile
