Region NCE > Sales Offshore UK & Ireland 

 

Sales Offshore NCE is responsible for all sales-related activities, from early engagement to bidding and negotiation until handover to Construction upon successful contract closure. The wider team consists of a diverse group of enthusiastic employees covering the geographic offshore regions in NCE and a team providing bid management and sales support to the sales region.

 

Responsibilities

  • Direct the technical part of the bidding process to ensure an attractive but risk-balanced offer. Take the lead in steering the negotiations of all aspects related to construction, technical, HSE, and QA in the Turbine Supply Agreement together with the relevant subject matter experts
  • Jointly lead the customer interface with the Senior Sales Manager throughout the entire sales process
  • Set new standards for handling the planning, follow-up, and reporting progress internally across all tracks involved in the negotiation of the Turbine Supply Agreement
  • Support relevant subject matter experts in the negotiations of all contractual matters related to construction, technical, HSE, and QA in the Turbine Supply Agreement, being the overall facilitator in such meetings
  • Work closely with Technology, Construction, Service Sales, HSE, and Quality, bringing commercial insight, flagging and managing cross-functional risks, and identifying matters requiring advance legal escalation. Responding to construction, technical, HSE, and QA issues
  • Review and provide input to cost and contingency estimates for construction, technical, HSE, and QA offerings and ensure consistently high quality of such
  • Align construction, technical, HSE, and QA customer requirements, risk assessment, and mitigation with internal stakeholders
  • Secure compliance with internal processes, mandates, and guidelines

 

Competencies

  • Significant desire and enthusiasm to work within renewables, specifically offshore wind
  • Proven leadership skills, including the ability to influence and motivate others to accomplish goals
  • Robust stakeholder management skills, including Executive-level management skills
  • Give, receive, and understand information clearly and concisely. Present information professionally and convincingly to ensure high perception, acceptance, and understanding
  • Understand, link, and evaluate information to understand issues, identify options, and support sound decision-making
  • Look ahead and plan to control a situation by causing something to happen rather than waiting to respond to it after it happens
  • A high degree of endurance and persistency to withstand long-cycle, hard-core customer negotiation
  • High degree of structure and project management skills, coupled with a great sense of cultural awareness and sensitivity

 

Qualifications

  • Solid level of technical expertise (within comparable fields) and robust commercial business insight
  • Understanding of the technical complexities of offshore wind projects as well as the contractual mechanisms
  • Experience on the technical side in negotiations of large complex projects
  • Experience with the Yellow FIDIC Book would be highly advantageous
  • Consideration is given to Masters level education in either a technical or business administration field, coupled with relevant professional or project management experience
