About the Role

As a Legal Counsel (Lead Specialist) for Offshore Transactions, you will have an important role in our mission to support the sale, installation, and service of wind turbines across northern and central Europe. You'll be part of a diverse, collaborative team excited about promoting solutions for all legal matters related to offshore transactions while safeguarding Vestas' interests and commercial objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Support offshore sales & service teams in acquiring and negotiating wind transactions.
• Review and evaluate tender documents from international clients, identifying legal and contractual risks.
• Draft, review, and negotiate turbine sales contract templates and related service agreements, primarily based on FIDIC YB.
• Oversee the work of outside legal advisors.
• Provide legal support to the Contract and Project Management teams during transaction execution, and occasionally to the Procurement team.
• Optimize business operations by developing and improving templates, company policies, and processes, and applying best practices.

Qualifications & Competencies:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a transactional lawyer in the renewables sector, with a preference for offshore wind experience.
• Proven expertise with FIDIC contracts.
• Exemplary drafting skills.
• Fluency in business and legal English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to handle complex contract structures under high stress.
• Great communication skills, particularly in engaging with diverse stakeholders (commercial, technical, management).

Locations:

This role can be based in either our Edinburgh (Scotland) or Warrington (UK) offices.
