Are you ready to step into a Company with a vision to be the Global Leader of Sustainable Energy Solutions and take on an important role as Product Designer?

Digital Solutions & Development > Digital Solutions > Global UX

Vestas is committed to leading the transition to a world entirely powered by sustainable energy. For us to achieve this ambitious target, we need to fundamentally change the way we operate, and part of the equation is changing how we build our digital products. To help us achieve this, we are looking for a Product Designer who is motivated by the challenge of building up UX maturity within our organization. The ideal candidate is independent, has a proven track record of implementing design processes, and thrives in an environment where they can shape and define the UX landscape. Your role will be pivotal in establishing and enhancing how we build our products, ensuring our digital tools are intuitive, user-friendly, and aligned with business goals.

As the Product Designer in our Transactional Sales area, you'll leverage insights to craft compelling user experiences and convert solutions for our end-users throughout the sales product lifecycle. Your role involves aligning business objectives and opportunities with user needs, behaviors, and desires, while integrating your design-led methodologies into the product team's workflow. In Transactional Sales, we focus on empowering Vestas' sales teams with the tools and technology they need to succeed. We lift Vestas' total value capture from initial sales and through the lifetime of customer assets by enabling upselling and closely coupling the applications with our supply chain and downstream processes. This commitment ultimately helps our customers make their wind turbines even more sustainable and effective, generating more green energy.

While you spend your day-to-day within the Transactional Sales product area, this position reports to the Head of UX in Global UX. You will have a leg in each camp, enabling you to help shape the experience landscape within Vestas, be part of a design community, and have ownership of products.

You will be placed within Global UX, a "Center of Excellence," which houses our User Centered Design capabilities, with the goal of partnering across the organization, helping them utilize design processes and create meaningful products. As a strategic focus area, the CoE also serves as an incubator for Vestas' design maturity. Our goal is to deliver Experience Design capabilities and best practices, increase the perceived and actual value of products we output as an organization, and create an environment where design thinking is deeply embedded in our organizational culture. We want to foster collaboration, innovation, and a user-centric mindset across all functions, developing standardized design processes, tools, and resources that can be easily adopted by different business units.

Responsibilities

  • Navigating problem and solution space from discovery to delivery, while ensuring design and best practices are incorporated into the product team's ways of working
  • Conducting user research, using both qualitative and quantitative methods to create user insights and use them to drive hypotheses and experiments
  • Prototyping and testing rapid prototyping and iterative testing methodologies to validate hypotheses, gather user feedback, and iterate on design experiments and design solutions
  • Validating your designs, e.g., via usability testing and heuristic evaluation
  • Sharing your designs and findings with product owners, and front-end developers, and working closely with them to see your designs implemented
  • Contributing to cross-product strategy and leading complex or cross-product discovery

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a UX Designer, Product Designer, or similar
  • Accustomed to collaborating closely in a trio with the Product Manager and Lead Engineer to lead product decisions together
  • "Full-stack design" experience, with ability and knowledge across the entire design process, from problem exploration to solution defining
  • A proven history of designing and building great digital products for enterprise, internal use, or B2B. (Salesforce is advantageous)
  • Experience working objective-based, e.g., with OKRs
  • Solid understanding of prototyping within Figma
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is a prerequisite

Competencies

We are looking for a designer who has a genuine interest in sustainability and a passion for solving complex problems. You are capable of putting UX theory into practice and combining this with an effective understanding of business processes and user behavior to help us improve our digital tools within Vestas. Your ideas and solutions should be intuitive and motivating for our users while also supporting the business requirements of the largest turbine manufacturer in the world. You highly enjoy defining your own workday, and we expect you to have a clear opinion on where your efforts create the most value for the product. You constantly seek to acquire new knowledge, stay up to date within your field, and challenge yourself.
