Vestas is looking for a highly experienced external communications profile to implement, oversee and expand our global social media strategy. As an organization focused on expanding the frontier of renewable energy, Vestas is in need of an innovative mindset to expand our social media presence and grow our position as a voice in the global energy discussion.

In Group External Communications, we are responsible for shaping the global narrative around energy systems. We articulate how climate targets can be translated into reality and how Vestas will drive this journey. Our department is responsible for shaping the understanding of our global media network, mobilising external stakeholders to turn policy into action, and distilling our strategic direction for our approx. 30.000 colleagues worldwide.

 

Responsibilities

  • Expand, guide, and implement a global social media strategy that will enhance Vestas' position as a thought leader. This will involve growing Vestas' share of voice in the global energy discussion through innovative social media tactics and a creative approach to content creation
  • Manage social media channels and content, such as supporting day-to-day content management using our Social Media Management tool, native posting, targeting and promotion on all corporate channels, monitoring audience engagement, crisis management, quarterly and annual content reporting, executive management content support, and copywriting, as well as image and video editing
  • Ensure strong cohesion between social media and media relations activities
  • Support regional communications functions, public affairs, and marketing activities

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, (Digital) Marketing, Digital or Multimedia Studies, or similar
  • 5-8 years experience in a similar position, with a preference for a well-established B2B company or within sustainability or energy
  • Advanced digital knowledge and high-level IT skills, including experience with social media management tools, understanding of social media trends and channel developments, knowledge of websites and content management systems (CMS), experience with on- and off-page SEO efforts, and working knowledge of Adobe design suites and video editing software
  • Experience with supporting media relations
  • Fluent English is required. Knowledge of an additional European language is also valued

 

Competencies

  • The successful candidate should have a PR mindset and experience in overseeing a highly profiled social media presence for a larger company or institution in Denmark or globally
  • As a proficient external communications expert, you will be able to hone a global social media strategy that can activate Vestas' corporate vision and strategy as well as unfold the company's position as a global thought leader
  • Bring solid experience in Social Media management systems with the ability to identify and resolve issues, from minor technical queries to significant crisis management
  • Advanced organisational skills are needed, while the ability to prioritise and complete tasks with accuracy and efficiency is a necessity. The right candidate will also have the ability to liaise with executive management, media contacts, and other key stakeholders. You will also be able to devise tactics to grow and engage our external audience
  • Be highly motivated and be able to work with minimum supervision. It is imperative that you are a collaborator who values accountability, collaboration, simplicity and passion in all tasks
