The Reporting & Analytics (R&A) Centre of Excellence is a global function in Finance responsible for enabling data-driven performance management and decision-making across Vestas. The CoE brings together business-facing analytics, governance and definitions, analytics engineering, and operations into a single, integrated operating model. Its purpose is to create a scalable, standardised, and high-quality analytics environment that delivers “one version of the truth” across Vestas. The R&A CoE works closely with Finance, Commercial, Operations, and Digital to translate business needs into analytics products, while ensuring consistency in data definitions, efficient delivery, and modern engineering practices. By combining subject matter knowledge, technical capability, and operational excellence, the CoE plays a critical role in improving performance transparency, accelerating decision-making, and reducing manual reporting across the enterprise.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will lead the analytics engineering function, defining data models, semantic layers, and technical standards. As part of the Analytics Engineering pillar, you will drive how analytics products are designed, built, and delivered across the organization.
- Own and lead the global Analytics Engineering function, setting direction and ensuring alignment with organisational goals. Contribute to the strategy, evolution, and continuous improvement of the organisation’s analytics capabilities
- Manage a large portfolio of analytical solutions. Ensure all analytics solutions adhere to defined architectural standards
- Lead and develop a team of analytics engineers. Partner closely with Product Owners to drive solution design, development, rollout, and ongoing operations
- Drive timely and high-quality delivery of analytics engineering initiatives. Ensure alignment and consistency across multiple analytics workstreams
- Establish and optimise the operating model for delivering efficient analytics products.
- Own all layers of the analytics stack
- Collaborate with Digital teams to ensure reliable and efficient data sourcing into the analytics platform
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Data, Engineering, or a related field
- 8–12+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or related domains
- Proven experience in building, and delivering analytical solutions that support business decision-making
- Extensive experience in data modelling and analytics architecture design
- Hands-on experience with modern cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, or similar)
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and data modelling techniques
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing engineering teams
- Experience in operating and maintaining cloud/data platforms to support analytics
Competencies
- Ability to lead and guide analytics engineering teams, setting clear technical direction and standards
- Deep understanding of analytics data architecture, including data models, semantic layers, and scalable solution design
- Ability to connect data solutions with business challenges and drive impactful outcomes
- Proven ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and align multiple stakeholders
- Capability to define long-term vision and roadmap for analytics engineering and data capabilities
- Solid understanding of business management concepts and how analytics supports decision-making. Ability to translate data into valuable analytical assets that drive organisational performance
- Ensures high standards of accuracy, quality, and consistency across analytics solutions
