The overall purpose for Construction Engineering is to liaise with key group functions such as Vestas Power Solutions (R&D), Global Procurement and the Production Business Units on behalf of the regional construction departments located in each of Vestas’ five Sales Business Units across the globe. The department has two key focuses:

  1. Ensure value chain influence through a common construction voice during launch of new products and solutions within the overall development framework
  2. Continuous improvement of existing product range through timely and structured handling of initiatives, improving safety, quality, delivery or costs through global programs and functions

This gatekeeper role retains clear responsibilities ensuring structured governance and project management throughout the value chain. Upstream feedback of proper requirement specifications on new products, as well as downstream implementation ensuring a fast “time to market” of new solutions and products are core elements. In addition, the Construction Engineering department ensure compliance between global designs and regional requirements.

The function is anchored in a small centralised function, and the majority of the participants are placed in a decentralised matrix organisation under the regional Sales Business Units – as close to the end customers as possible.

Responsibilities
Your main responsibility will be to create, maintain and drive project execution balancing scope, resources, timelines, risks and budgets, and to evaluate projects and work out lessons learned. More specifically, your tasks will cover to:

  • Align and sign off project scope for Vestas’ Sales Business Units (SBU's)
  • Identify, document, escalate and mitigate project risks and translate them into business risks across the Vestas Value Chain
  • Align and balance requirements within product, production, installation and service requirements
  • Identify and utilise the correct construction technologies
  • Ensure segment representation in Peer Reviews and Technical Reviews according to Vestas’ Way to Market (VWtM)
  • Ensure communication with main stakeholders
  • Be responsible for protecting Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) of Vestas knowhow and products
  • Coach and train the extended Construction Engineering organisation

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and/or above, major in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. You have a keen interest in project management and possess high knowledge of modular development and new product introductions across a global value chain. In addition, we expect you to have:

  • Qualifications in project management tools e.g. Prince2, IPMA, People management, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma 
  • Capability of coaching and leading highly motivated project teams
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbally
  • Experience in MS Project, Primavera, SAP, BI or equivalent EPR knowledge

Additional information
The work location will be in Copenhagen, Denmark.

You should expect approximately 40 travel days per year.
