Within Vestas Power Solutions, Product Application Controls is responsible for defining the product architecture and product roadmap based on market requirements, translating these into module‑level requirements, and ensuring full value‑chain integration.
Loads and Control (LaC), part of Product Application Controls, is responsible for designing and optimizing load and control strategies in close collaboration with cross‑product design teams. The department comprises highly skilled, experienced, and internationally diverse engineers who take full accountability for the end‑to‑end LaC solutions delivered across products. The team operates across three design locations: Portugal, Denmark, and India.
The Loads and Control Quality team is responsible for fleet performance, covering both load and power performance. The team performs root‑cause analysis for issues reported from the field, develops effective solutions, and ensures that learnings from operational feedback and failures are systematically fed back into the design and development process to drive continuous product improvement.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Technical Leads on the development and deployment of turbine control solutions
  • Understand, implement, and test control codebase changes in alignment with defined guidelines and standards
  • Participate in implementation reviews and functional design reviews
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on controller performance issues and define effective corrective solutions
  • Deliver control and performance improvements for turbines, including non‑standard product requests and service‑driven solutions

 

Qualifications

  • Master's / PhD in Electronic / Mechatronics / Instrumentation & Controls / Control System / Similar engineering specialization
  • 0-1 years of Working experience in Simulation/Modelling tools such as MATLAB SIMULINK
  • Strong Competence in Mathematical modeling of Electro-Mechanical and hydraulic Systems
  • Knowledge of Control Design and Control Tuning using a Model-Based Control Approach

 

Competencies

  • Strong in Control Theory
  • Programming knowledge in C++, SQL, R , MatlabControl System Modelling, Controller Design, Controller Tuning & Controller Verification
  • Good knowledge in Power generation concepts.
  • Knowledge in Aero Dynamics
