Engineering" Department in EBSC, Chennai is an Engineering Hub for the Assembly, Generator, Towers and Converters & Controls manufacturing value chain. We impose innovative & creative solutions and drive a continuous improvement culture to achieve Vestas' vision. We directly contribute to Vestas' Must-win Battles and COO strategic priorities.  We remain essential to Vestas' future success and day-to-day operational execution. Our expertise is in Engineering data analysis, Technical documentation, Product/ process quality control, Business process, Tooling design and layouts, Operational support, Technical support, Test Solutions, and Enterprise Asset Management offers ample support to Vestas' global strategies through process optimization, production support, test validation and cost control.

 

In this role, the Team Lead will support the lifecycle of a large portfolio, leading project-level reviews, optimizing standards, identifying areas for improvement, reporting analyses, and training project managers and line managers.


Responsibilities

 

Technical:

  • Portfolio Management: Develop and implement frameworks to manage and deliver a portfolio of programs, projects, and products by Aligning portfolio activities with business strategies and goals.
  • Project Governance: Oversee Portfolio projects and ensure smooth transitions to Project Managers
  • Resource Management: Establish and Manage resource overview for Manufacturing and R&D. Ensure projects are appropriately budgeted.
  • Data Quality and Monitoring: Ensure data completeness and quality through Power Apps and monitor them regularly through Portfolio Dashboard 
  • Cost Governance: Oversee cost management for Manufacturing projects. Maintain cost baselines and monitor the Cash flow monthly for all Manufacturing related projects 
  • Strategic Alignment: Ensure alignment with Footprint Planning to have pipeline ideas are in track of Vestas targets 
  • Process Improvement: Standardize and improve existing governance model to improve the process efficiency.
  • Lean Reviews: Conduct lean reviews for Manufacturing and R&D departments. Engage Line Managers and provide training for new departments.
  • Risk Management: Develop and implement strategies to manage and mitigate risks within investment portfolios. 

 

Leadership:

  • Setting Clear Goals: Establish clear, achievable goals for the team.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates on portfolio performance, market conditions, and investment opportunities. 
  • Training and Development: Mentor and train junior team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in portfolio management.
  • Coaching Team Members: Help team members achieve goals and develop necessary skills through feedback and guidance.
  • Motivating Team Members: Inspire and motivate the team to maintain high performance.
  • Providing Feedback: Offer constructive feedback to help team members improve.
  • Fostering a Positive Environment: Create an open communication culture and a supportive team environment
  • Budget Management: Oversee the budget for the team or department, ensuring resources are used efficiently.
  • Performance Reviews: Conduct regular performance reviews to assess and improve team members' performance.
  • Participate in the hiring process to bring in new talent that fits the team's needs.

 

Qualifications

  • Education: B.E or MBA in project/finance/operations management. PMP Certification/prince 2 is an added advantage

  • Experience: Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in PMO / Project Portfolio Planner/Controller/Business Analyst/Portfolio Data Analyst working in the Manufacturing Industries which includes Sourcing, Technology (R/D), Manufacturing, Heavy engineering installations, Service etc.

  • Software: Hands-on experience - Basic Excel VBA, Microsoft Project POWER BI and SAP PPM knowledge is an added advantage

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse complex data and make informed decisions. Proficiency in data analysis tools Power BI ,  SAP and techniques.
  • Project Management: Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies. Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Financial Acumen: Knowledge of budgeting, cost management, and financial analysis. Ability to monitor and control project costs effectively.
  • Process Improvement: Ability to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements. Experience with lean methodologies and continuous improvement.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with project management software and tools such as Power Apps , SAP PPM . Proficiency in using resource management and simulation tools through Excel Macros
