Nacelles R&D > Control Hardware Module > Control HW Quality
Vestas Power Solutions serves as the R&D division of Vestas, focusing on innovation, development, and continuous improvement to create products and technologies that lower energy costs and maximize value for both customers and Vestas. Within this business unit, the Control Hardware Module department is tasked with designing and developing low voltage control panels and control systems for various sections of wind turbines. This department comprises several submodules, each focused on specific sections of the wind turbine.
The Control Hardware Module: Quality is part of the Nacelle R&D organization within Vestas Power Solutions. This business unit is responsible for developing, maturing, improving, maintaining, and testing new product ideas on a global scale, employing over 2,100 people. As a member of the Quality submodule, you will oversee quality improvement projects, continuous improvement initiatives, LPF projects, and ensure closed-loop quality in design through the use of DMAIC, DFMEA, and other related tools.
Responsibilities
- Work on Closed-Loop Quality
- Support the process of Root Cause Analysis for failures
- Improve the preventive actions to avoid known failure modes in the new design
- Aspire Quality Culture in the Module by training Engineers in Six Sigma and Mentoring Quality Improvement Projects
- Improve Reduction of Cost of Poor Quality
- Support in maintaining the knowledge base and facilitating the sharing of learnings and best practices
- Consistently seek out safety Data from the Value chain and motivate solution & implementation
- Delivery of Product Development Agreement with supplier
- Ensure the risks are properly updated in the DFMEA document from the Nonconformity report, QBD, factory & field failures
- Follow up on Critical to Quality tasks, and maintain the risk register. Lead & Lag Indicator
- Creating sub-module / component-specific cost of failure to cost of new design ratio
- Introduce the APQP4 wind process in all Powertrain projects, especially focusing on involving the value chain & improving the close loop quality
Qualifications
- Bachelor / Master's degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Automobile /Production / Similar specialization
- It is ideal to have Six Sigma Black Belt Certification, APQP4 Wind
- 10 +Years of experience in Continuous Improvement activities in Quality function
- Product Development Experience would be beneficial.
- Excellent in Communication
