The Procurement Project Engineering team in Chennai is a sub-function of the Procurement Program Management based in Denmark. The department's primary objective is to ensure that all procurement deliverables for projects are fulfilled with high quality and on time.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the project meets the Time to Market target, while also fulfilling safety, quality, and cost parameters
- Support to prepare procurement related deliverables preparation towards gate review meetings
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management System processes and Modular Vestas Way to Market (Stage Gate model)
- Engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risks and develop mitigation plans
- Serve as the main contact for solving problems and initiating actions related to the Procurement function
- Initiate the development of best practices within the functional area
- Generate project performance reports and conduct peer review meetings
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the organization to ensure timely delivery of items for new project proto builds
- Manage and implement proto test completed new projects across multiple locations
Qualifications
- Bachelors in Engineering ( Mechanical , Electrical ) with minimum 12 to 16 years of experience in Global procurement, New product development functions.
- Project management certification and 6 sigma knowledge
Competencies
- Able to apply skills to perform complex and non routine work activities to improve, Change or adapt existing methods and techniques
- Utilize a methodical approach to issue definition and resolution, effectively resolving a wide range of issues in NPI projects through collaboration
- Knowledge in global procurement process, with experience in new product development and its processes, including engineering change management processes
- High level of new product qualifications, project governance, risk identification and mitigations
- Technical skills, with a solid knowledge of manufacturing, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of the value chain and capable of managing multiple stakeholders globally
- Possess the motivation and enthusiasm to work under tight deadlines across different time zones and cultures
- Proficiency in SAP, Windchill, and Creo View tools
- Advanced skills in handling Excel workbooks, Macros, SAP GUI, and Power BI tools
