As mentioned, you will be joining a newly established chapter in Digital Engineering & Product Lifecycle, named PTC Products. Digital Engineering & Product Lifecyle is a part of Digital Solution, and accountable for developing and managing digital solutions within the area of Industry 4.0 and Product Life Cycle Management - from management of master data to utilization of extended reality, simulation and configuration tools, and Industrial IoT. PTC Products is responsible for developing and managing digital solutions within the PLM-suite of PTC. The chapter is managed out of Chennai in India, but where you reside is secondary.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Solution Architects/Functional consultants and gather the technical requirements for Windchill PLM developments
  • Configuring the Windchill system based on the specific requirements of the organization, such as creating and managing data models, workflows, access controls, and user roles
  • Developing custom functionalities, extensions, and integrations within the 
  • Windchill platform to meet the unique needs of the organization
  • This may involve writing custom code, scripts, or using Windchill's APIs
  • Ability to create custom reports (also SQL scripts) and extract the data from the Windchill system
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues, bugs, or system errors in the Windchill platform
  • Providing technical support to end-users and assisting in problem resolution
  • Creating technical documentation, including design specifications, API docs, user guides to ensure proper understanding and usage of the Windchill system
  • Perform unit/smoke/functional testing, prepare test cases, and demonstrate solutions to stakeholders
  • Participate in system testing and quality assurance activities to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of Windchill applications
  • Assisting in system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities related to the Windchill platform. 
  • Keeping up to date with the latest releases and features of Windchill 
  • Collaborate with project owners to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables
  • Creation of deployment artifacts and work with Platform team for the implementation of the solution
  • Debugging the technical issues in the Windchill Production environment
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in Windchill and PLM technologies

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's / Master's degree within any engineering specialization 
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Windchill PDMLink 
  • Minimum 5 years of Windchill development experience with significant knowledge on the Windchill Technical Architecture and Frameworks - (Event Framework, MVC pattern, Service Framework, Form Processors, Validators, Workflow Customization ESI Customization, etc.) 
  • Strong Proficiency in JAVA programming languages and JSP, JavaScript, or other relevant languages for customization and extension development 
  • Experience with Windchill data model, workflows, lifecycles, and access control
  • Experience with Windchill APIs and debugging tools, such as Windchill profiler, etc
  • Experience in Rest Framework
  • Experience in unit testing framework like Junit
  • Experience in SQL and creation of DB scripts for data extraction 
  • Experience in GIT and Devops
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to interpret complex business requirements
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to work alone and in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
  • Relevant certifications in Windchill and PLM technologies are good to have

  • You are motivated, open-minded, and willing to learn as a person
  • Know-how to apply design and testing methods and tools
  • Know-how to apply agile practices
  • Diligent to deliver good quality code, documentation and manage repository
