Lead Engineer - Mechanical (Wind Turbine Generators)

Service Operations, Regional Operations,ASP, WTG Engineering India

 

Regional Operations Support which is a part of ASP SBU, providing  Technical Support to Service & Constructions related to SCADA, Blades, BoP, and WTG Engineering.

 

Responsibilities

  • Technical support on all the general mechanical components and including  Drive train support including and not limited to  gearboxes, oil analysis, bearings, mechanical endoscopes, and condition monitoring
  • Secure technical know -how within the group on hydraulic units (pitch system), oil analysis, main shaft arrangement, blade bearings, torque arms, transmission systems, rotating unit, yaw gears and yaw bearings, bolts & torques
  • Act as one voice towards the global organisation on the Technical issues, and be a single point contact for the R&D  and Service/Construction organisation.
  • Ability to translate the technical issues into a business case and support SBU on the continuous improvements
  • Contribute through technical projects in the cost out journey
  • Technical documentation 
  • Remote Service support to Technicians on field
  • Creating high level technical reports ie, root cause analysis, inspection & Serious incident report if need
  • Data collection, analysis and root cause investigations
  • Managing technical projects

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's / Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10-15 years of technical experience
  • Wind turbine knowledge/experience preferred
  • Project Management experience (as project participant or project manager) a plus
  • Six Sigma certification is an advantage

 

Competencies

  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance engineering of hydraulic systems, gearboxes and bearings essential
  • Mechanical background specialized in gearboxes combined with professional experience on industrial maintenance and R&D will be preferred
  • Mechanical background specialized in drive train and hydraulics combined with professional experience in industrial maintenance and R&D will be preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge on gears, bearings, mechanical condition monitoring, endoscope and oil analysis are an advantage
  • Experience with Blades and Towers an advantage
  • Fully computer literate
  • Good communication skills and high technical level, and excellent English 
  • Innovative analytical and problem solving skills
  • Able to handle multiple tasks in a challenging environment
  • Excellent Time/Project Management skills
