Loads&Control (LaC) organization, being part of Product Solutions & Integration, is responsible for designing and optimizing Vestas' products for optimal performance, loads and control strategies to design product responses to market roadmap requirements, translating product roadmap into module requirements with full value chain integration.
Responsibilities
- As a Lead Engineer, you will be handling the technical aspects of Loads and Control development for a specific product from feasibility to full validation and certification, including, but not limited to:
- Balance the trade-offs between power production and loading, in close cooperation with our internal stakeholders
- Life-cycle optimization for legacy and ongoing products through learning from fleet experience
- Development and validation of wind turbine aeroelastic models
- Conduct test and integration of innovative technologies into new products
- Calculate design loads, power performance, and noise levels for internal and external stakeholders
- Guide the certification process of wind turbines, including performing the design loads verification test campaign on prototype wind turbines
- Guide and mentor engineers
- Sign off site specific solutions recommended by Technical leads in the team
Qualifications
- A Ph.D. or M.Sc. in structural, civil, wind, mechanical, control, or mechatronic engineering
- Minimum of 4-7 years of experience within the wind industry
- Proven history in running wind turbine product development from a load and control perspective
- Good competencies within innovative simulation of mechanical systems
- Experience or knowledge of aeroelastic tools such as Flex5, Bladed or HAWC2
- Programming experience (e.g. in Matlab)
- Knowledge of control of mechanical systems
- Project management certification can add value
