Nacelles R&D > Nacelle Module > Nacelle Quality

 

Nacelle Quality is part of the Nacelle module, which is responsible for all development of the Base frame, Yaw system, Cover, Cooling and conditioning , Structure and internal, Transport, Construction and maintenance. The Quality department is working across the Nacelle module to secure world class quality in both development and processes. The Sub Module Quality work with and define quality initiatives across the entire Module Organization spread across Denmark, India, Portugal & China.

 

Responsibilities

  • Gather and understand project requirement & scope
  • Plan project tasks for an improvement CIM cases(projects) along with Product owner and scrum master
  • Provide Immediate Containment solution for Quality issues such as field failures
  • Perform field failure data analysis and identify failure predictors and causes
  • Deliver Root cause analysis & Improvement solutions for the Quality issues using six sigma methods such as DMAIC
  • Identify failure modes for the Quality issues & transfer learnings into New products to minimize the risk of similar failures
  • Perform structural calculations of the field failures using CAD & FEA tools
  • Identify monitoring & design solutions to detect failure modes well ahead to prevent the quality issues
  • Provide solutions to the Quality issues such as Non conformances from Manufacturing, Supplier & Construction
  • Identify solutions to address cost of poor quality events in service

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor / Master's in electrical / Similar specialization 
  • Experience with Creo & ANSYS Structural calculations
  • Technical leadership & Project management skills (technical project management)

 

Competencies

  • Self motivated
  • Expert in structural design calculations for wind turbine load cases
  • Expert in FEA using ANSYS
  • Understanding of the Business and Full value chain
  • Have a solid understanding of mechanical systems
  • Good diagnostic and troubleshooting technical skills with emphasis on root cause analysis (DMAIC)
  • Ability to do statistical analyses & draw inferences
  • Ability to priorities tasks in accordance with business objectives
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily work under a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to develop network internationally to develop own knowledge base and solve technical issues
  • Scripting in Microsoft SQL and python an added advantage
  • Yaw system design experience is an added advantage
  • Clear communication
