Come join the new Vestas Blades Process Engineering organization. This organization is characterized as a co-located & process engineering team focused on developing and supporting the rest of the organization with subject matter experts (SMEs). An organization that embeds engineering know-how directly into the manufacturing value stream and enables faster decision-making and deeper process ownership and knowledge. Responsibilities

As a Process Engineer at Vestas, you will play a key role in improving the manufacturing processes for wind turbine blades. If you do not have a deep knowledge within composite materials you will have a high motivation to get it. You will have a clear focus on modern production process technologies, work toward standardization via process optimization to ensure process stability and capability to improve overall business performance; Safety Quality Delivery and Cost (SQDC)

  • Design and optimizing production processes, within Finish & Paint operations.
  • Develop Process requirements and specifications
  • Analysis of AS IS and future state
  • Create Process Roadmap 
  • Develop and support manufacturing sites Process Industrialization and standardization
  • Coordinate and support Process Optimization in the manufacturing sites
  • Be part of building a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability
  • Use digital tools like digital twins and data analytics to improve performance and make data-driven decisions.
  • Investigating and solving production issues using structured methods such as the 5x Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and FMEA.
  • Applying continuous improvement principles using quality tools like Statistical Process Control (SPC), Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and ensure final product quality.

 

Qualifications

  • Master engineering or alike
  • GB Six Sigma or Advance Manufacturing Process Analysis
  • About 10 years of experience in similar roles as described above
  • Worked with: Process Requirements formulation, Manufacturing process specification and Process flow creation.
  • Data process analyses at a high level and worked in a data driven organization.
  • Supported optimization and standardization within manufacturing processes with use of the toolbox also mentioned above.

 

Competencies

  • A blend of technical, methodical, and operational competencies tailored to composite materials, precision manufacturing, and continuous improvement
  • Composite Materials Knowledge, understanding of Paint, Paint products, fiberglass, epoxy resins, and other materials used in production.
  • Process Design & Optimization experience in Finish & Paint or manufacturing processes in general.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making, use of tools like 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and FMEA to identify and solve production issues. 
  • Use statistical Process Control and Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • You are self-motivated; result-oriented and possess great organizational discipline
  • You find it exciting and interesting to work with other people in a large organization and can build up an intensive network across cultures and time zones and work with stakeholders
  • You can be a key part of cross functional product development projects
  • You are customer-oriented and can understand the complete business value chain seen from a customer perspective
  • You are interested and willing to spend time in the factory environment as required to understand and solve problems
  • You are committed to learning
