Responsibilities
- Develop people and capabilities: Build and grow a strong, future-ready engineering capability across all Power Controls subdomains. Drive competence development through coaching, mentoring, and structured development plans. Ensure engineers have the right skills to support both current delivery and future technology needs.
- Enable delivery through strong competence support: Support ARTs and teams with the right competencies, capacity, and domain expertise Identify and address skill gaps impacting delivery and quality. Ensure sustainable allocation of key experts without overloading or fragmentation.
- Set standards and strengthen technical excellence: Promote best practices, engineering methods, and technical standards across the Power Controls domain. Ensure alignment with architectural intent and system-level requirements. Drive consistency and reuse across teams and solutions.
- Support Flow Agile ways of working: Collaborate closely with Solution, ART, and Team-level roles (e.g. Solution Architect, RTEs, Product Management). Contribute to PI Planning by ensuring competence readiness and realistic capacity. Support Inspect & Adapt by identifying capability-related improvements.
- Drive long-term capability readiness: Anticipate future competence needs based on technology roadmaps and product strategy. Ensure the organization is prepared for upcoming demands (e.g. new turbine platforms, cost improvement initiatives). Support hiring, onboarding, and development of critical expertise.
Qualifications
- Strong engineering background within Software, Controls or Systems engineering
- Experience leading, mentoring, or developing engineers in an R&D environment.
- Proven track record of building technical capabilities and teams
- Experience working in cross-functional, global organizations
- Familiarity with Agile and/or SAFe environments is an advantage
