Global Buisness Improvement > Service Ananlytics > Analytics Department

 

At the core of our Service Analytics department, the Analytics Development team is responsible for enabling business decisions and process with scientific products/insights across the entire value chain in Vestas' Service Business Unit. Based out of Chennai, India, but with a global focus, the team collaborates with Data Analytics Product Owners across the globe to develop impactful solutions that empower the business to understand and continuously improve in multiple functions like Operations, Supply Chain or Commercial globally; to improve increased turbine production performance; and to create transparency that enables data focussed business optimization, through solid scientific capability & data centricity combined with business knowledge enabling Vestas maintain a global position in Analytics in the renewable energy industry.

 

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain scalable data pipelines for analytics use cases in service operations area

  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements; own the delivery of data modelling and data pipelines

  • Develop clear & physical data models using optimal data model structure for data warehouse and data mart designs to support analytical needs

  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc

  • Collaborate with technology and platform management partners to optimize data sourcing and processing rules to ensure appropriate data quality

  • Hands-on role (100%) - building data solutions using best practices and architecture recommendations

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's / Master's in engineering (Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or similar) 

  • Has been working as a Data Engineer for 5+ years, with an overall experience of 6-8 years 

  • ETL/Data pipeline tools related Azure and Databricks certifications 

  • Relevant hands-on experience in data modeling and data engineering, with proven history of applying data engineering for enabling business analytics 

 

Competencies

  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases (RDBMS, Datawarehouse, Datalake)

  • Experience in building and maintaining scalable ETL/EL data pipelines to support continuing increase in data volume and complexity

  • Deep understanding of data structure / data models to design and develop data solutions ensuring data availability, security, and accessibility

  • Hands-on working experience in SSAS/Azure Analysis services will be added advantage

  • Proficiency in code management / version control tools such as GIT, DevOps

  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders across different geographies and collaborate with analytics & data science teams to match technical solutions with customer business requirements

  • Fluency in English and have good communication, presentation skills
