Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO) is the foundation of Vestas' growth. Our team provides innovation, product development, and continuous improvement to create advanced products and technologies that lower energy costs and maximize value for our customers and Vestas. In essence, VTO is at the forefront of developing the wind power systems of the future.

The Base Frame submodule is an integral part of Nacelle Module, with key locations in Denmark and India. This submodule is responsible for the full design process of the main frame of the Nacelle, a major casted component.

 

Responsibilities

  • FEA assessment of complex global and sub models of the Wind turbine under various loads
  • Design verification of casted and steel components
  • Design verification of bolts and bolt connections
  • Deliver the complete verification and validation documentation, including certification
  • Define and participate to testing campaigns
  • Cost-Optimize the structure using dedicated tools and following the Vestas development process Way to Market

 

Qualifications

  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. within Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering or related fields 
  • Minimum combined 5 years relevant experience in structural engineering or FEA
  • Design and development of mechanical systems
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA); e.g. Ansys. Knowledge of APDL is desired
  • Proficient at coding within a common scripting language (e.g. Python, MATLAB)
  • Modular product development & Understanding of Project Management

  • Have good communication skills and are fluent in English (speaking and writing)
  • Experience with Ansys and Creo
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g. Scrum)
  • Project Management and business education/experience
  • Experience within other large corporate organizations
  • Are proficient at coding within a common scripting language (e.g. Python, MATLAB)
