The department is responsible for delivering Service solutions on All Brands enabling the service business within Vestas to fulfil its ambitious, strategic targets. The Service solutions vary from parts & repair over maintenance concepts to product developments and upgrade solutions like component life extensions, rotor upgrades, optimizations of performance and cost-avoidance initiatives
Responsibilities
As load engineer in Service you will be a core member of the Loads & Controls team that brings together new ideas across LAC area into value adding projects. Your area of responsibility will be, but not excluded to:
- Feasibility studies of new turbine features aiming at optimising power, loads and noise performance through innovative use of sensors, controllers and actuators for the existing fleet variants
- Lead the technical aspects of product development for specific after sales products from feasibility state to fully verified product on committed scope, budget and schedule
- Lead new technology advancements in Service to adapt existing fleet variants operates similar to the latest Vestas products
- Handle field issues, CIM cases, sudden events related to turbine operation to improve turbine downtime and to ensure turbine structural integrity etc.
- Providing input to service technology roadmap and Vestas technology roadmap
Qualifications
- MTech/MS in the stream of Civil or Aerospace or Mechanical from an accredited university or engineering college
- Atleast 5 years of experience with load evaluation towards wind turbine design.
- The knowledge with the tools Flex5, Bladed or HAWC2 (aero-elastic simulations) & modelling.
- The knowledge on software and programming skills (ex. C, C++, Matlab, etc.)
- Strong competencies within dynamic simulation of mechanical or structural systems.
- The knowledge on Electro-mechanical systems
