The Sales Manager role is anchored in the sales department but works across multiple functions in an international environment to deliver on Vestas commercial strategy. We are responsible for sales of high value and complex renewable energy projects in a department with a flexible and open work environment.
Responsibilities
The Sales Manager is responsible for supporting sustainable revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion by developing long-term customer and partner relationships, managing the full sales lifecycle, and executing solution-based sales strategies. The role focuses on channel development, key account management, and complex deal execution, ensuring effective alignment between customers, partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is a deal maker who is commercially driven and highly motivated and able to:
- Build lasting, long-term customer and partner relationships
- Is skilled in complex deal execution and negotiation and has closed large & complex deals
- Develop and promote growth through focus, structured pipeline and opportunity management
- Aligns internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Balances strategic thinking with practical execution
Qualifications
BSC with MSC or MBA in related field coupled with minimum of 10 years of experience or around 20 years of experience with expert knowledge and related qualification/s in:
- Channel sales or complex project sales environments
- Technology sales, and infrastructure solutions
- Experience of EPC, IPP and PPA models
- Solid commercial and contractual experience
Solid business acumen and results orientation
Effective communication and negotiation skills
Advanced analytical and strategic thinking
Experience working in a matrix organization
Fluent in English

Additional information
This is a hybrid position based in Cape Town, South Africa and requires up to 20% of travels within Cape Town and globally.
