Service Technician - Capital & Woodlawn Wind Farms

Reporting to the Site Supervisor of the Capital & Woodlawn Wind Farms you will play a pivotal role in maintaining, testing and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment and monitoring daily performance to ensure continued high availability to customers. 
This exciting role will require the successful applicant to live local to site as it is a drive-in drive out opportunity that does not offer FIFO. 

  • Perform the day to day servicing, calibrations and maintenance as a part of scheduled and un-scheduled service and maintenance of wind turbines
  • Installation, commissioning, inspection and maintenance of wind turbine generators and associated spare parts
  • Identify, define and isolate source of issues through logical processes and identify and evaluate possible solutions for the same
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through direct liaison with client representatives, customers and service recipients
  • Develop and maintain site-specific documentation and quality assurance information
  • Achieve, measure and report on performance indicators and site service objectives within a continuous improvement environment
  • Carry out hazard and risk assessments for all tasks as per company policy and procedures
  • Proactive focus on HSE including reporting and documenting of hazardous observations near misses and incidents



  • Australian recognised mechanical trade qualification
  • Exposure and experience with HV (desirable, not essential)
  • Experience working in an electro-mechanical environment, preferably working with WTGs
  • Experience in Maintenance of heavy machinery
  • Disconnect/Reconnect license (desirable, not essential)
  • Valid Australian driver’s license



  • Demonstrated commitment and adherence to safety and environmental requirements
  • Any previous experience in the wind industry, commercial construction, engineering or HV electrical experience will be highly regarded
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Fit, with the ability to carry weight and climb wind turbine towers
  • Flexibility in operation and ability to work in a team and as an independent contributor
  • Self-managed, with good communication skills and strong work ethics
  • Intermediate computer skills

Additional information

  • Primary Work Location: Capital & Woodlawn Wind Farms, New South Wales, Australia – 5 days per week
  • Ability to work overtime is essential
  • Available to work on a on call roster, 1 weeks per every 4 to 5 weeks
  • You must have the right to live and work in this location to apply for this job
