You will be part of our Project Management in Construction which comprises a team of highly motivated colleagues, responsible for project execution including installation and commissioning of wind turbines in the Latam region.In addition to project execution, our team also supports the rest of the Vestas' value chain with our knowledge of construction projects. Therefore, you will have great opportunities to spar with other parts within Construction, and many of your tasks.

The Construction Department is in charge of all wind farm projects from start to completion. The team takes responsibility for a wind farm once a contract has been signed and remains responsible until the final tests are completed. Working closely with the sales, legal, logistics, procurement and finance departments, the construction team has to keep the project on budget and on schedule, ensures our safety and quality standards are met.

This role will be parte of the Construction LATAM SOUTH Team, having in scope Chile, Argentina, Peru, and Uruguay.

 

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • The projects in your portfolio, ensuring that they are delivered on time, to budget and to the required safety and quality standards.
  • Leadership and management of the Project in the most value-adding way by engaging ever-growing employees with the right set of competencies and skills.
  • Actively maintain relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and back office.
  • Guide and encourage members of the project team to develop their skills and competencies.
  • Actively support other areas of the business requiring specialist construction knowledge e.g. Sales.Motivate team to engage in continuous improvement throughout the company
  • Encourage open and transparent cross functional collaboration across departments.Overall authority and responsibility for the Project.
  • Ultimately accountable for effective Human Resources Management on the Project, and responsible for setting, developing and motivating the Project Team.Communicate effectively with the Customer to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies.
  • Recognize and solve potential highlevel problems with key stakeholders within other areas of the company.Develop, implement, and maintain sound business practices in conjunction with the relevant stakeholders.
  • Leadership and guidance to Project Management department in all aspects of the project life cycle. Handle issues directly, using appropriate discretion, and respect for the individual. Lend expertise to internal teams and task forces
  • Cultural awareness to the team for them to understand the diversity between themselves and other people, countries, organizations, companies, etc.

 

Qualifications

  • Relevant education (e.g. Engineering or Contractual background,
  • Project Manager education or similar)
  • Product understanding and awareness
  • 5-10 years experience from similar industry and from project management of large scale projects
  • Risk Management competencesCommercial acumenContractual understandingAwareness of cultural diversity
