Sales (Commercial) Manager, Onshore Wind, MED East (Southeast Europe and Central Asia)
Our Sales Managers are responsible to pursue and secure some of the most exciting onshore wind projects. If you relish the opportunity of developing effective commercial proposals for our customers and are motivated to manage the contractual negotiations, then you should consider this role further!
Vestas MED East is a business area responsible for selling, executing and operating wind turbines in Southern Europe and Central Asia. Responsibilities
The Sales Manager will report to Head of Sales but considering team's growth and size - reporting might change in the future to another Sales Lead position. Key responsibilities expected from Sales Manager are as follows:
- Screen and evaluate sales opportunities
- Manage the entire sales cycle: from identifying potential customers, quoting and optimizing deals to negotiating and concluding contracts for the delivery of wind energy projects
- Ensure effective interdisciplinary collaboration in a matrix organization
- Coordinate and specify technical, financial, pricing, legal, construction and service solutions for the customers, in close corporation with other Vestas departments
- Establish, develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders (existing and potential customers, authorities, utilities)
- Monitor market development
- Provide a day-to-day interaction between Vestas and targeted the customers
- Setting sales and commercial goals and providing input to the internal stakeholders involved in selling
- Generating new opportunities and leads based on customer, competitor and/or market understanding
- Formulating a sales management strategy to reach those goals
- Face the customers jointly with the deal team throughout the entire sales process
- Manage the commercial TSA negotiations
- Reviewing tender material
- Develop bid, negotiation and commercial strategies
- Ensuring structure within the bid and negotiation phase
- Reporting progress to the management team
- First point of contact for commercial issues and responsible for internal escalation
- Managing the customer relationship and face the customers together with the Service team, Senior Technical Sales Manager throughout the sales process
- Align commercial requirements and risk assessment with Service team and other internal stakeholders
- Lead a cross-functional team from different departments working on a project
- Compliance with internal processes and guidelines
- Involved in planning and focusing to increase sales volume, contributing to company profits and long-term growth of the organization
- Be responsible for people management
- Contribute towards the long-term growth of the organization
- Possessing product knowledge with the ability to effectively market the product to customers
- Negotiate terms and close deals
Qualifications
We are looking for a person with the following qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering or business administration, coupled with at least 5 years of professional and project management experience, within the wind energy, EPCI oil and gas, infrastructure or the construction industry will be valuable. Also, a master's degree would be preferred
- Experience with being involved on a commercial side in negotiations of large complex projects and is able to articulate the consequences from a commercial and contractual point of view
- High understanding of the commercial aspects of complex products and the ability to translate this knowledge into a contractual context
- Experience with long-term sales processes and delivering results in a complex organization selling large-scale projects
- Business English fluency is required with proficiency in another Southeast European language such as Romanian, Bulgarian, Serbian or Croatian

- Very good knowledge and handling of sales governance processes
- Give, receive and understand information in a clear and concise manner. Present information professionally and convincingly to ensure high perception, acceptance and understanding
- Understand, link and evaluate information to understand issues, identify options and support sound decision-making
- Look and plan ahead to control a situation by causing something to happen
- High degree of endurance and persistence to withstand periodical high tendering activity or long-cycle hard-core customer negotiations
- High degree of structure and project management skills
- Deep sense of cultural awareness and sensitivity

This is a hybrid position based in Bucharest, Romania, or Belgrade, Serbia or Zagreb, Croatia, and requires up to 60 days of travel per year.
