Quality Inspector I
The Quality Inspector is responsible for testing and inspecting products at various stages of the production process. This role evaluates and compiles inspection and quality data to support decisions that ensure the quality, reliability, and compliance of nacelles, hubs, and drivetrain (DT) components.
Responsibilities:
- This role supports factory quality performance by identifying defects, reducing non‑conformities, and ensuring products meet specifications before release, shipment, or storage. The position works closely with Production, Technical Support, and Quality Engineering to drive improvements in DPU and FPY while maintaining strict adherence to quality processes.
- Identify and analyze defects impacting Defects Per Unit (DPU) and First Pass Yield (FPY) metrics; collaborate with Production and Technical Support to resolve issues.
- Inspect materials and products against specifications and known defect criteria.
- Initiate and document Non‑Conformity (NC) reports for defects and deviations.
- Provide independent quality approvals for processes not directly involved in personal assembly work.
- Case‑handle assigned NCs and support factory personnel through initiation and containment.
- Perform containment actions on non‑conforming parts and products.
- Coordinate part disposition including scrap or internal rework, with Quality Engineer support.
- Facilitate non‑standard work events to bring products back into conformance.
- Coordinate and track rework activities for NC material in production or inventory.
- Support production lines by identifying potential quality issues and interpreting specifications.
- Facilitate Form, Fit, and Function (FFF) testing and document results.
- Verify that all product and process requirements are met prior to release for storage, including:

- Reviewing inspection journals in QDA
- Ensuring required process documentation is complete
- Stamp approvals or rejections in QDA based on inspection results.
- Perform dispatch inspections in the storage yard to ensure product quality prior to rail shipment.
- Compile and communicate daily quality reports.
- Facilitate and lead Material Review Board (MRB) meetings to disposition NC material.
- Present quality status updates during daily morning meetings, including results from the prior day.
Education, Training, and Skills Required:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- One to three years of related experience in production assembly and/or quality.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast‑changing manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrates personal integrity and accountability.
- Strong job‑site communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to correctly use measuring tools, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
- Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience in auditing, quality assurance, quality control, or continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with statistical tools and methodologies, including Six Sigma, statistical analysis, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).

Available Shift: Monday to Thursday from 5 PM - 3:30 AM, with overtime on Fridays at the same shift hours.
Pay Range: $25.50 - $30 per hour ($3 night shift differential)
