Vestas Factory

Production Engineer (PE) plans and leads technical projects to include new products, tools, and process improvements. Convert Company Strategies into projects to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost as an advocate for zero tolerance safety culture throughout the region with direct coordination with global PE team, regional teams and local factory teams. This scope will include manufacturing of composite turbine blades and the assembly of Nacelles, Hub and Drivetrains for Vestas factories and Supplier factories in the region.



•             Support and optimize the regional PE team in the region

•             Ensure Tooling Management (Maintenance) in the Factory and to the Satellite or Contractor after Project G6

•             Support and supervise of New Product Introductions and Tech Transfers for the region

•             Collect manufacturing requirements and improvements

•             Setup assembly processes to include process flows, assembly documentation and training plans

•             Develop and coordinate tool creation and deployment

•             Determines test methods, procedures, parts, and equipment needed to implement engineering changes.

•             Guide Regional CAPEX projects with Factories

•             Develop business cases, follow budgets and submits investment requests regarding the purchasing of new equipment/materials

•             Optimize existing processes

•             Compiles and writes training material and conducts training, acts as mentor to colleagues in evaluation, data collection, data analysis, Root Cause Corrective Action and effectiveness validation.

•             Ensure best practice for sharing across region and within PE community

•             Accountable for budget planning and execution for projects

•             Support total predictive maintenance (TPM) and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) processes to Production

•             Develop detailed timelines as Project Leaders to track success

•             Stakeholder reporting for Projects

•             Design methods and collaborate on ideas for maintaining or increasing production levels while improving production costs, yields, quality, and safety

•             Troubleshoot process problems and identify solutions which reduce downtime and conserve maintenance costs

•             Design and conduct plant trials to determine performance capabilities

•             Develop and update process procedures to ensure that documentation is accurate and understandable

•             Understand and handle various Production Support Systems

•             Determine the test methods, procedures, parts, and equipment needed to implement engineering changes

•             Interface with all levels of management and employees to gather information and provide guidance for implementation

•             Monitor and reduce process and product variations

•             Take ownership of assigned area

•             Support for programming and troubleshooting both robotic & automated equipment/machines

•             Identify PTS (Process Technical Specifications) or instructions when buying new equipment

•             Interpret PII (Process Instructions) and PWI (Process Work Instructions)

•             Work with BOM (Bill of Materials)

•             Implement Takt time planning

•             Work with revision-controlled documentation structures

•             All other responsibilities as assigned



•             Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, SAP and additional software programs)

•             Ability to physically work on-site on factory floor with technicians and production team members as job assignments require

•             Will be required to see and hear alarms, timers, and follow verbal instructions

•             Will be required to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the duration of the task

•             Problem solving skills

•             Able to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional and quality manner

•             Develop and present executive level presentations to communicate complex issues with simplicity

•             Ability to establish targets and translate them into actionable plans

•             Ability to travel internationally as needed




•             Bachelors' Degree in Engineering or equivalent required

•             5+ years' experience in production or technical engineering

•             Proficiency in MS Office Suite

•             Solid technical background

•             Experience in Lean process, Six Sigma Green or Yellow belt preferred

•             Quality Engineering knowledge to include PFMEA's and Control Plans

•             Understanding of production process and tools used in Wind assembly processes

•             Advanced experience in defining Problems and handling Root Cause Analysis for at least 5 years.

•             Ability to identify risk and provide mitigation plans

•             Ability to travel internationally as business demands

•             CAD drafting capability (SolidWorks / Creo / AutoCAD)

•             Ability to read, evaluate, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

•             Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

•             Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

•             Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Compensation Range: $80,000 - $100,000 per year
