The Maintenance Process Lead is responsible for assisting in the administration and maintenance of Vestas tools, equipment; conducting reporting/inspection procedures, assisting as directed with the day-to-day Maintenance initiatives within factory location. Along with being a direct and integral member of the maintenance team, is responsible for leading and directing his/her crew in the safe execution of the daily activities. The Maintenance Team is responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, repairing, adjusting, and calibrating instruments/machines responsible for the manufacturing of turbine components. Will work roughly 30% of the time of process and 70% on leadership and administrative tasks.

 

Responsibilities

• Work with the Maintenance Manager/ Supervisors to assist in coordinating and executing the activities with team members related to maintenance and facilities.
• Lead maintenance team in repairing and maintain production machines and the factories equipment• Lead maintenance team in emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production
• Lead maintenance team in scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
• Lead day to day maintenance activities including manage work orders, PM schedules etc.
• Responsible to communicate concerns and complaints to appropriate department supervisor/manager for resolution
• Assist in executing the "Equipment Downtime Escalation Plan".
• Coordinate the work order process and workflow optimization. Ensure all forms of work order and equipment tracking are used and completed daily
• Understand blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Reads and understands, Mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic prints and symbols.
• Must be able to train and guide less experienced maintenance team mebers, set up operators, and equipment operators in their job functions that pertain to maintaining and setting up equipment.
• Knowledge of maintenance of material handling equipment, overhead cranes and rigging to safety accomplish tasks
• Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment by following all safety protocols and performing routine housekeeping and workplace organization

• Maintain EAM database of new purchased equipment, existing equipment and maintain PM schedules.
• Facilitate factory tool calibrations and maintains all tool calibrations requirements.
• Set an example as a Vestas ambassador and role model in terms of behaviors, showing focus on Vestas core values in accountability, collaboration, simplicity, and ownership
• Responsible for conducting daily/monthly safety inspections, correcting hazards identified, and ensure that employees are using proper PPE at all times
• Requisition tools, equipment, new parts, instruments and supplies
• Ensure resources are allocated appropriately to support production schedules
• Promote workplace safety and ensure team members are working within established safety policies and procedures and report otherwise to the Supervisor
• Communicate the safety hazards at various processes or when using certain equipment
• Complete first report of injury on reportable / non-reportable injuries, near misses and hazardous observations
• Development and implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance techniques
• Inspect and test shop equipment and new and repaired instruments to verify dimensions of parts and for conformance to quality control standards
• Track process indicators and spare parts / labor consumption and equipment performance
• Ensure downstream process customer delivery expectations are met
• Disassemble, adjust, alter repair, calibrate, and reassemble damaged or defective instruments
• Meet and negotiate with outside vendors to develop contracts and pricing agreements and maintains contacts
• Inspect completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards
• Advanced knowledge of shop tools and tool purchasing
• All other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications/Competencies
• A high school diploma or general education degree (GED),
• Minimum 5 years' experience and or equivalent training is required in Maintenance. • Strong Natural Ability to Work in Teams with ability to schedule and self-manage tasking timetables
• High Degree of Adaptability & Flexibility
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other software programs
• Comfortable speaking in front of groups teaching/leading
• Ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders
• Knowledge of a manufacturing plant, chemical plant or refinery maintenance is preferred
• Experience with repairs and maintenance of processing equipment
